    Hey, Shane @Sixpoint - will you be sending Jammer to Texas? It would be the PERFECT thirst-quencher in the hot Texas summer heat!

    I didn't read all the posts between this question and the end of the thread so if someone already answered, I apologize.

    If your comment is referring to the low cost of Gose/Berliner Weisse in comparison to other sour/wild stuff, the answer for many brewers lies in the process of kettle souring to produce quick lactic acidity in 12-72 hours before fermentation takes place. This helps cost by only taking a weekend rather than months in a barrel. Equipment costs are lower as well, because you don't need to purchase separate equipment to isolate sour bugs, and your culture and wort can be pasteurized in the kettle after acidity is produced but before product heads to a clean fermentor.

    If the comment was referring to a higher cost of Gose/Berliner Weisse than other packaged clean beer, it is likely because of the perceived cost that sour beer should simply cost more than clean beer, thus why would a company not fetch a higher price? Or more commonly, it is because a brewery is not employing the "Kettle Souring Technique" described above, and thus has the usual sour beer time and equipment expenses and is fetching a fair price.

    Cheers!

    Jon I don't see man/any of Sixpoint's stuff in south central PA. I may need to hit you up for a small box of these if they are prevalent around you.

    Unfortunately all but one of your listed Pennsylvania beer events are in Philadelphia, which isn't that easy to do. I love the style too much to miss it, one way or another I will be jamming on some Jammer.

    @SixpointJMH @JackHorzempa

    Thanks for the interest gentlemen.

    PA is an interesting state. Distributing one's beers is no easy task. You have very unique case laws, and the wholesale landscape is very distinct. That being said, we are committed to growing our distribution base, it just takes time.

    We appreciate all of the support!

    cheers

    I think this is fantastic that Sixpoint is doing a sour in cans and a six pack. This is a good value and the quality will be just as good Im sure. I can only think of 6 sours that are in 4 and 6 packs. More breweries need to start doing this.

    The victory kirsch gose was not up to par or as sour as other beers out there. Maybe that's why....taking shortcuts doesn't always work out well.
