So what happens if nobody buys it? You think they throw it out? Any bottles not fully reserved will be made available, bank that.

Yeah, no offense to Patrick and Co. but it's not like they're gonna be like "Oh yeah there's enough for it to be on sale at Provisions".

That's not what happened with Chocolate Rain. Yes, you've been able to get a glass here and there but bottles have never been available for sale - you can take that to the bank.

If it doesnt sell out, they may just let RS members buy more until it is sold out. It's happened before.

Let's see, any bottle difference between White Chocolate and Chocolate Rain?!? I think so. Choc Rain had incredible hype so you can rest assured that nobody left bottles on the table. Considering the large bottle count on White Choc and people on here saying that they are not going in for all six, what do you think happens to the unclaimed bottles? They ain't getting thrown out that is for sure.

it's completely disheartening that now the mark of how seriously to take a beer is predicated on how difficult it is to get.

i can't believe that the conversation has devolved into earnest discussions of how hard white chocolate should be to acquire, solely in response to the stupid bullshit about the hardship tax for shelf beers. we are directly witnessing the arms race of exaggeration that makes trading so hard. hopefully people are recognizing this for what it is.

I understand that. Let me try again and ask what happens if it does not sell out there either. The point is that I never accept the absolutes. If they have bottles left overe, just as reasonable to assume that they make it to Provisions. Unless of course they simply want to hold it forever any always make available to RS. My guess is that if it does not sell through at RS initially or after some period of time, it eventually gets to Provisions. That is allows trying to say.

    1) What does it matter? Seriously, I can't figure out why you're talking about this.
    2) If by "gets to Provisions" you mean "They sell two cases of it on one day during an anniversary/xmas event" then sure. But again, so what? What does it matter for anything?

Because if it makes it to Provisions = Shelf Beer. Easy pickin's for trade. Duh.

News flash Einstein, very little talked about on the Internet really matters at the end of the day. Sorry to break the bad news to you, but the vast majority of what you say and whati say means jack squat to the world in general. I guess I could say that if what I say means so little, why should you care and take the time to respond. So, just move along.

But if you must know, somebody posted in fairly certain terms that this will NOT be sold to the general public. That statement is nonsense. If nobody in the Reserve Society would buy one bottle of it, you think they just drain pour it. So, the statement is false on its face. That is all I was trying to say.

    Got it? Geez.

Thank you. If you want a conspiracy theory, this is the exact reason. The notion that it won't be available to the public initially means greater value in a lot of people's mind, especially those maxing out on order with no intention of drinking six. At least somebody gets it.

Dude, us Cali folks, specifically SoCali folks, we gotta have a few of our bottles keep some form of high trade value. I mean come on, give us a Break! After all, our current white wale AKA, Stone BBA IRS, just took a dump in the trade value market due to infection just an hour ago.

That hit home pretty hard out here. Now I'll NEVER be able to trade one bottle of that for 2-3 KH's. How do I explain that to the wife and kids come Christmas?

It's like the stock market of 2008 all over again out here. Traders all over SD tripping balls right about now.

Or, as they've already done this year, they just offer extra bottles to RS members until it is sold out. Or they hold some extra bottles back for tastings, festivals, dinners, etc. Plenty of things that can be done without drain pouring them...

Hey guys, Patrick Rue already adressed this in this very thread. Go back one page and you will find this:
Sounds like White Chocolate showing up at Provisions isn't at all out of the question.

It says right on the RS website in the description that this beer will not be distributed and was made for RS only.

If they don't all sell they usually offer the RS members a chance to buy more. Then after that if any remains it could make it to the provisions shop. Based on the post from PMR it sounds like it may not make it to provisions and if it does it wont be much. If you live close keep your eyes open.
