what beer do you consider a good baseline standard for sourness in a Gose?

Personally, I'd say you want both the sourness and the salt to land somewhere in the Ritterguts- to -Westbrook range. Boulevard Hibiscus and AV The Kimmie being solid examples.
Glad to see that the fresh harvested sea salt actually makes a difference, and isn't some arbitrary thing to tout such as 'free range coastal water'. Smart choice going with a sixer format and sick can glass! I needed one of those.

I'd agree with imbrue002... One of my all time favorites is Westbrook Gose. I can't wait to try yours... I'm a fan of pretty much all your beers.

yeah, and don't forget Pelican too :-)

ours has a balance of the three main flavor components: salt, sour, and spice (coriander)

No one element overpowers the other, but you can get a good feel of each one

Sounds like a very good explanation to me after tasting it on Friday night for the first time.
It is a very good intro for the masses to Gose. Perhaps you don't want to scare too many people off with a big sour taste up front.
With that said I personally prefer a bit more sour [Westbrook Gose] but I think Jammer will be a great spring/summer type beer.

the beer has not landed in NYC yet - so if you tasted a beer on Fri night, it must have been a pilot batch.

FWIW the final version was a bit more sour than the pilot...

Yeaaaaahh, awesome. I've been looking for a good Gose that I can drink all summer now that I was disappointed in Kirsch. Shane, will this be available all summer I hope????

Great work..........again. Love the can glass, now if only you could get the glass manufacturer to make a tall thin can glass to match your packaging

@Sixpoint , will the Gose be one of the beers available in South Carolina? I know you guys are launching here this week, and that would just be the cherry on top of the Sixpoint-SC mountain.

Westbrook, Anderson Valley and several other American brewers produce goses that are not traditional in terms of sourness or salinity. They are "extreme" versions of proper goses produced by the likes of Ritterguts, Leipziger and other Leipzig brewers. Victory's Kirsch Gose is closer in sourness/salinity to the traditional style, albeit with a tad extra sweetness thanks to the cherries.

As for Jammer... I can't wait to try this! I keep hoping to find an American brewer that produces a Ritterguts-like gose, so if it's like that I'll be ecstatc. However, if it's closer to Westbrook's interpretation I definitely won't complain.

I agree 100% . Leipziger is my favorite so it would be nice to see an American brewer try something closer to that, although I would have no complaints with a westbrooke-esque American style gose With a sixpoint twist. Regardless of which way it is I'm sure it'll be good. Sixpoint has yet to dissapoint me.

I'm anxious to try this (I'm assuming it will make its way to Texas). Also, I'm apparently one of the seemingly very few who does not care for Westbrook's Gose. Of the many examples of the style I have tried, it's my least favorite.

Not sure how it took me this long to see this. I guess I need to go on BA more often, but this sounds incredible. I was buying Anderson Valleys gose all last summer and then it disappeared never to be seen again until recently when I tracked down some Blood Orange gose, which is good but not the same. I wonder how the coriander will affect the flavor. Either way DUMP IT INTO MY THROAT NOW!

JAMMER is en route to wholesalers right now and will land today, tomorrow, and Thursday. Expect full distribution next week.

Here are some initial images from the sampling right after canning! We tested it out in a variety of glassware - was fun all around!
