I thought the wax looked a little odd and realized it was beeswax cause I have a bottle from Logsdon that is dipped in beeswax and looks the same. The floral smell is pretty awesome. Actually, smelling the beer inside the bottle with the wax on top is even cooler. Almost has a pineapple and cream thing going on.

We are really sorry that some of you didn't get bottles of Ann. There were only 160 bottles released. Hopefully some of you can find a friend to share their bottle with you? We still hold true to the fact that we alter our limits based upon the # of people in line at 11am. As for stemware - we sold 500 glasses from the retail shop in the last month - definitely not expected. An order was placed two weeks ago but they still have to ship from Belgium. Our apologies to you, Wowcoolman - we are sorry that you feel it was the worst bottle release you've been to. You will likely be able to order stemware via our website soon (if we can figure out how to ship them without breaking) - and Society and Solitude #4 is 50% Double Citra (which should be a consolation, right?!)... AND 50% Double Galaxy... so... in theory, you sort of get to taste both! As for Ann - I suppose it's the nature of the release that not everyone would get a bottle.
We are already working on the logistics for the next event and release - and can assure you that we have remedy (similar to the anniversary party) to the long lines. A 4 growler limit was instituted long, long before 1:15pm (as stated above) and was executed before noon. Folks have to remember the size and scope of our operation... we do our best, but there will always those that are displeased with long lines and waits or shortages. We will go back to a calendar system, a larger "sampling and drinking" area, and a smoother bottle sale/retrieval method.
    See you all soon...

Speaking of smells, I was on my way home from the release when after about 2 hours on the road one of my two liter growlers of Edward blew out the bottom of my growler and filled my back seat foot area. I heard a slight 'pop' then was then advised to pull over. As I was slowing down the aroma of fresh hops basically permeated everything in my car.

I consider myself lucky that I only lost one soldier.

Great event all around, many thanks to Shaun and crew!

I didn't realize that it had bee's wax on it either then I saw a dude in the "parking lot" holding the bottle up to his face. I thought he was chugging it and I asked him how does it taste. He said "No, dude, have you smelled the wax on this guy?"

(I know this BA is out there....REVEAL YOURSELF!!!)

Is there a certain square footage that you have to stay in to have it be concidered a "drinking area"?

It was my first release that I've been to. I thought for the most part everything ran pretty smoothly and I especially enjoyed how we were served beer while waiting for the bottle release. I'm definitely already looking forward to going up to the next release.

I was fortunate enough to get one of the bottles of Ann. If there are any BAs that are in the Boston area that weren't able to get a bottle send me a BM. I might be willing to share my Ann with a couple BAs if you are willing to share something from your collection. I'm planning on drinking it sometime within the next 2 weeks. Please do not send any trade offers, I'm definitely not interested in trading it just looking to share with someone who will appreciate it.

Beer in line...epic. Where else can you wait in line and drink Hill Farmstead? Hahah probably best consolation, along with chill people and a beautiful location that you could ask for.

All in all, it was an excellent release. It was a beautiful summer day in Greensboro, VT and we got to meet new people and talk about and drink what we all love. At the end of the day, we all got to bring a little of that magic home with us to enjoy in our living rooms and share with our friends and family. If anyone missed out on something that they wanted, they could have gotten there earlier and they would have had it. I'll see you all at the next release. I'll be the guy that is closer to the front of the line. Cheers!

My apologies if I got the time wrong... It definitely wasn't HF fault with the growlers, even once the 4 limit was implemented, people started recruiting anyone in line who wasn't getting the full 4 to let them get the rest of their allotment, Or just went and got their wife/grandmother who was obviously just there to mule. We were throwing around the idea of having one line where you can get 1 or 2 bombers and another line for 3+, not sure if that would even be feasible.

Do I detect a new car air freshener smell on the horizon?

Arrived at 11:20 am. Missed out on Ann but that is life.Thought the line for growlers and, line for release was a great idea.
Everyone was pleasant, the staff worked hard, the offerings were wonderful.
Pours available in line was well thought.
    Super job.

Since I happened to be the 161th person in line I had a reason to be upset and post a "wort bottle release ever" comment. Hanging out at a river drinking Heady from the can chilled me out and reminded me why I came up to visit Vermont (more for the nature experience than for rare bottles). In California HF beers are so sought after that everyone wanted me to bring back growlers of Double Citra and the cool stemware. A very cool BA in Boston is sharing an Ann before I go so I'm not missing out. You may see me up at HF again, hopefully to drink beer and not spend 4 hours standing in line

Could be a bad idea if a cop pulls you over.

"Why does it smell like weed in here?"
"That's my air freshener, sir." :sunglasses:

I'm sad to think of bringing tears to the officer's eyes when telling him the awful truth

I think in Mass, cops can't search your car just based on smell. Different thread discussion but anyway...

It's a much better visit on a non-release day. Little or no growler line, get as much as you want, chat it up, taste some beer, and be out in 30 minutes. Sure, you don't get super crazy limited mega whale bottles, but it's the same caliber stuff on tap.
