What about Hat Trick? Parabola and SLOambic aged together... okay!

That didn't work for me. I mean, it was okay, but the components are way better left separated.

For those of us who sadly didn't make it to the party (I didn't say I didn't get bottles!), how was Sour Opal? Anyone pop open a bottle yet? I know the Bretta Rose is on point after having it at the Feral release.

I'll be cracking a bottle tonight and will report back. I thought this particular tap version was not as good as the one's that I've had previously...seemed a little watered down. The bottles always are better than the tap versions for me.

Lil Opal on tap did not seem like the bottles I got last year. Sour Opal on tap was good but needs to develop. I heard that Rose might still be a bit buttery in the bottle, best to store both warm a bit.

So I drank my first bottle of Sour Opal, and as suspected the bottle is basically twice as good as the tap version IMO. Much more body, and a lot more fragrant on the nose. The taste was better than ever; just seemed a lot more defined into the gueuze style. This one is going to be absolutely phenomenal with a little age on it, as the only knock I can find is that it tastes a bit young (new).

Awesome! It gets me wishing that in the future they make Sour Opal with apricots/peaches/any other type of stone fruit. It would have me like :grimacing:

There's barrels @ BWX that have the name "James and the sour peach" on them. Your wish may become real at some point.

    I loved the Bravo (271?).[/QUOTE]

Dat Bravo! Talked to the guy pouring it, he said that barrel of Bravo has been in the barrel for eight years. Said the single barrel Rufus was five years. So tasty!

Edit: Failed at quoting, don't care.

They only sold half of what they made, but who knows if they'll have them in cooler to buy soon.

It's always good to pop in to Barrelworks and check the fridge...they usually have rotating bottles of past releases, as well as some surprises. I missed out on the magnums of Kreiky Bones, Feral Vin and Feral one a month ago by like 5 minutes. Cheers!

Thanks, I'll definitely be stopping by to check the fridges and check out the taps.

I want those magnums too! Been in the same spot where I just missed a big drop by a matter of minutes. Hopefully beer karma rewards us both.

Even though the page was up and taken down recently, the next Liberation is Sept 5th consisting of Krieky Bones & Zinskin. Tickets will go on sale Aug 7th. They will have two options: 3 of each for $100+fees or 6 of each for $200+fees.
