Yes, I think you are right, this site is about enjoying good beer and discussing it. But the issue I take with the larger macro breweries is that many of them are actively trying to make that more difficult or even impossible, through legislation, lobbying, hostile economic practices, and so on. That being said, I also empathize with the OP, because I too have broke down, and as many others have pointed out, its nearly impossible to not support "evil" big businesses. But that doesn't mean we shouldn't be aware of it, talk about it, and if we so desire, try to keep that support to a minimum.

I buy beer I enjoy, who makes it doesn't factor into it. It's just coincidence that all the beer I enjoy comes from craft breweries and not macro.

The place to talk about it IMO is in the beer news threads when there is an issue of legislation, company buyouts, etc.,. The intent of my post was to express to the OP (and maybe I could have taken a more expedient route) that nobody on a beer appreciation site should have to feel like they need to apologize for drinking any beer, or include a disclaimer for drinking a certain type of beer. Ergo, post that you really enjoyed "x" beer to drum up a discussion of that beer or similar beers on it's own merit and not cringe at the political backlash of posting it.

I broke down and purchased a 25 ounce can of Mixxtail Hurricane that was half priced at a convenience store for a dollar fifty .

The comedy of these posts even though I do get where they are coming from is they are 99% of the time written using a device that is made or supported by three of the richest companies in the world.

    And the verdict is........
"Poured into my mouth straight from the container. Brought me back to my younger days when I was dragging my ass down Bourbon Street yelling at everyone "show me your tits, I have beads". Found that the flavor was there til the finish...tasted the same coming up as it did going down. Also found that the stains are quite hard to remove from my clothing."

Well said. And yes, there is still a time and place to talk about politics. Usually, over a beer. Cheers.

Actually if we include all the (surviving) PC makers, plus the smart phone and tablet makers (granted the overlap) I think there are lot more than three "macros". Unless you are trying to indicate operating systems when you say "supported by". And I would point out that Apple basically invented the modern smartphone, and MS made the modern spread of PCs possible. I am sure AB and Miller did a lot to standardize beer quality while they were killing off regional breweries across the USA, but I do not think they "invented" any beer categories dear to people here - they certainly did not invent lager. Not sure who invented AAL.

The tech industy is in constant ferment. 20 years ago MS was the evil giant. Then it was Google, and Apple. Today it may be Facebook, and in hardware Apple is playing catch up with Samsung.

In that time who has dominated beer? ABI. Before that it was AB.
