40+ person bottle shares where everyone gets about a 0.3 oz. pour of each beer and have their laptops handy to meticulously take notes on all of them. Seriously, there's more acid on a piece of blotter paper than the amount of beer you're getting to try.

The word just sounds so crude...it's more like incidental inebriation achieved after tasting parameters met...

I can understand about the kids. Here in Delaware you have to be 21 to enter a liquor store. All alcohol is sold in private stores. Can't buy in gas stations, Wal Mart, grocery stores etc. I don't have kids however and can see why that would be a pain in the ass for consumers.

Besides the obvious of bottle dating my peeve is why do breweries distribute to all surrounding states and leave one out. Great Divide distributes to DC, MD, VA, NJ and PA but leaves out Delaware.

This actually wasn't a dig at all to Sam Adams, they make some fine damn good beers, my peeve is that it's usually the ONLY decent option among the taps. Personally I really don't care for most of their standard seasonals except for Octoberfest. My opinion is that these chains should let their local owners have a few taps for local favorites. I understand most folks are still going to want Bud Light anyway but there are a few of us who would go for the local pumpkin peach ale. And I suspect enough of us to warrant a tap or two.

Oh...I didn't mean to make it seem like you were saying something you weren't...it was just a good jumping off point for what I wanted to say...CHEERS!...

I don't understand all this hate for 4 packs. I guess a lot of you don't drink...FBS, Heady Topper, Sip of Sunshine, Second Fiddle, FIS, KBS, BCBS, Too Cream Stout, Plead the 5th. Have I made my point?

Yeah, I'd rather have a coaster or nothing. You do know the salt trick, though, right?

That is just so NOT the case... The beer (beers)has (have) indeed changed. The Beck's came in a light tight 12 pack and was not light struck ("~some drinkers prefer it that way~")???

The reason skunk is offensive is that nature made it that way so Skunks could use it to be offensive in their defense. So far this has been working for the Skunk.
I stand by my post, it's just not the same.

The whole idea behind drinking an import brew is to take a virtual vacation to that particular land, and for a brief moment be a world traveler.

Thanks for the replacement offer, but no, I'll give Beck's another go, if its good I'll say so, if not, I'll tell it like it is.
    Yours,

Pilsner Urquell cans are around Philly. I would be surprised if they are not in NJ too...stay on the lookout.

Edit: Dinkle-Acker CD Pils in cans is out there too.

I totally respect people in there 50's that have beer knowledge. As a bartender in "beer city" it's the 50 something guests that pretend to know what they are talking about because it's the cool thing to do. In reality they couldn't tell you the difference between a lager and an ale.

PU in cans are at Total Wine in NJ for $7 for a 4-pack of 16oz. cans.

Oops- I should have replied to @Urk1127 - anyway, here's hoping you can find them.

Thanks a lot for that post. I look forward to trying the new/old Bass Ale. I won't expect it to be like the days prior to the yeast being 'cleaned up', but if it has the 90s character it'll be just fine.

Breweries trying to be edgy by producing traditionally low-hopped beers that are way over-hopped.

A hoppy saison? Who thought this was a good idea? F'n disgusting. Give me a saison OR an IPA, thankyouverymuch.

    Only two pet peeves:
1.) Getting bad pours from a bartender and I mean not even close to being full with a lot of head.
2.) Being overcharged from a stated price even when I pay cash.

Only place I bartended at when I lived there was at a place in Ada called the Dirty Shame. Right across the way from Amway. Lots of bitter blue collar types. I'd have loved to had anyone order something that wasn't a Miller and a shot. Only person drinking the craft beer was me! We did bring a Harley in one night though. Can't remember why but it seemed like the thing to do. I believe the place is called Poncho and Leftys now. ...

When I ask my server at a restaurant I'm not familiar with, "What's on your beer list?" and they reply, "Oh, we have everything - Bud, Bud Light, Miller Light, Heineken."

It is usually at that point that I ask, "Do you have Sam Adams?" and graciously order it after they nod their assent.

Ha! Same thing here. There is a place that's really blowing up right now, and I work within walking distance, practically, but they are never open when I am in the area. I'll have to be content getting growlers of their beer from other places for the time being.
