Really fucking good! They had trimmed most of the fat off the bacon, then cooked it on a rack in the oven. A quick fry to as much fat out as they could, then make crumbles. Try it!

Just did Victory At Sea with coconut macaroons and chocolate truffles which ruled. My first one. Looking forward to experimenting more during the weekend.

I recently tried to concoct a "proprietors" of sorts with BCBS in a french press. infused with cinnamon, vanilla bean, coconut, maple syrup, and coldbru coffee. basically came out way too coffee-ey, and not vanilla-ey enough. the coconut was also too sweet, as it was not fresh, but dried flakes.

just tried a Founders breakfast stout with 1/2tsp vanilla extract, 1/3 nip of JB#7, a 1/2tsp of dark maple syrup, and let some coconut flakes sit in that mix before pouring. came out very tasty. the vanilla and JB somehow full'end up the body of the beer, and mellowed it out a bit. yet still allowed the coffee taste and malts to show though. I will be using this as my adjunct recipe from now on.

That first one sounds like too much stuff, to me. I either do maple syrup by itself, coffee by itself, or cinnamon + coconut. Throwing all of those in sounds like a recipe for a sweet mess.

Easiest thing I've come up with lately - BCBS + frozen Mounds bar, ground up. The chocolate and coconut go beautif

What should I expect to pay for a decent french press if I wanted to get into this? I have seen some at local stores for like $13.99 but dont want to get the shittiest bottom of the barrel ones if it matters. I think it sounds awesome to try things like Vanilla Bean Old Rasputin or Raspberry Marshmellow Yeti without having to give up my firstborn.

Shouldn't have to spend more than 20-30. I would take a close look at the $13.99 one, maybe it will work just fine, unless you want to do this quite often.

This is what I kind of figured, I will look online at reviews and whatnot and make a decision. Once I get this house purchase out of the way and get some disposable cash back I can look into some of this experimenting

Ikea actually has a decent one. I know that seems like an oxymoron. But its served me well.

Unfortunately, closest Ikea is about two hours away it looks like. Anyone use the Kona one, I am looking on Amazon?

How much cold brew coffee concentrate should I mix with a bcbs for it to taste not horribly overpowering of coffee?

depends on how strong it is. I have done ~1oz and seems to be plenty.

The video has one towards 3:30. Toasted pecans, dried guajillo peppers (from the looks of it), and maple syrup?

Let me revive this. I've got some sweetened flake coconut, a French press and a Death by Coconut. I'm DBC'd out, and got one as an extra in a trade so......do I somehow make it work? If no one warns me of impending actual death- it's happening in 2-3 hours.

So how was it? Sounds like a lot of coconut.

I've done raspberries + WB Gose. Delicious and awesome color.

Oh man, first couple sips- euphoric. Following sips? Not so much, just to much sweetness- my teeth fell out.

I tried it once with a stout and coffee grounds. I did the same ratio when making actual coffee, and that was the problem; awful.

If I try it again, small amounts per oz.

Sweetened coconut is cloyingly sweet. Next time do unsweetened and toast it first to get some color and personality on it.
