I personally find it more interesting that there is so much focus on the ridiculous trading / asking prices however, not much mention of the number of people going thru the line multiple times or taking multiple tickets until they got a yes. This was my 5th DLD and honestly I have to say that the bottle line was just as bad as it was 2-3 years ago. It was interesting that the bottom part was not ripped off until you went to purchase bottles and golden tickets were being handed out like strip club fliers on the Vegas strip. I was just mentioning to my buddy how I thought it was rather odd that there were just boxes of scratched GT's just sitting on the floor before you even entered the area to purchase your bottles. Luckily, it is the bottle shares and taps that make the festival however I think FFF / event coordinators need to get their stuff together before they have another Huna Day 2014 on their hands.

    Yeah, I remember seeing that

The bottles for coffee/cherry/muerte/Brandy/Aquavit all have the same artwork and description "barrel aged dark lord", and the variant is written in. Obviously we know Aquavit and Brandy, but nothing further was given for cherry, cognac, or muerte. Dark matter gave the info regarding the cognac barrel for the coffee, so we can be sure on that. But I didn't see anything from anyone involved regarding muerte or cherry. Yes I saw that article about the hot sauce, but i tend not to trust 3rd part articles, (remember there was an article saying all dark lord was 750). I did here several people say the cherry was bourbon, but I also heard several people say the coffee and muerte were bourbon, one of which is clearly wrong. I asked FFF on Twitter, but haven't receiced a response.

    Axel Foley, you're so crazy.

My argument is that buying something for $50 and selling it for any dollar amount more than that is a sound financial decision. Everyone can ask themselves these weird moral questions but, again, financially speaking, flipping those bottles is a terrific idea.

First DLD. Group A. Traded with a very generous @biglobo8971 Friday night. Thanks man!

Got in North line at 8am. Met a dude named Jeremy and his friends and he immediately busts open a 2013 Chocolate Rain and shared some with us. Line was fun, went through the maze to get in (they needed port-a-potty's along the maze) and grabbed a couple 3F taps and then some shirts and proceeded into the DL line. At this point I don't really remember how long the line took and have completely lost track of time by this point. Won a VBDL. Friend and I shuttle our stuff back to car, grab some food and met an awesome dude named Clinton Puckett who shared some rare W.L. Weller bourbon with us. I grab some trades to bring in and met @NessLeBert and @ncarlber. Thanks guys! Lost friend for two hours during this time and finally went back to car once trades were done to find him walking back towards me, he had lost his phone. We use find iphone on my phone and eventually track it down to guest tent near North gate. He is relieved and happy I had made him keep his phone in a ziplock bag. Grabbed some guest taps but am pretty foggy on what it was :slight_frown: I know Pannepeut for sure! Heh. Caught some Obituary and I was one of the drunk aholes acting a fool and wound up on my back in that big puddle. Was all in good spirit though... That pretty much ended my DLD. If I ever go again I might opt for a 3 hour nap in the middle of the day

No, you're totally right. It's ridiculous that that's something that was allowed to happen, and I'm surprised it was allowed to happen even once. Bottom of your lanyard thing should definitely be torn off as soon as you receive a scratch-off.

Muerte, Cherry Cocoa Nibs, Biggelswade, and Vanilla bean were all bourbon. The Coffee barrels were cognac after Dark Matter aged beans in them. Aquavit and Brandy were from their respective barrels obviously.

So this years Biggleswade was bourbon instead of brandy. Was it the same ingredients otherwise as last years?

My first DLD was a huge success, though not without its miserable moments. We came in the South gate next to the giant tent surrounded by a mud moat and thought the whole place would be muddy. Scored some '13 DL in that area, but we were very happy to discover the paved areas. Stood in the Dark Matter line for a very long time and met some awesome people with some awesome beers. Speaking of...

I think I was in the Dark Matter line with you guys! I'm the guy who gave away a bomber for a taste of Heady Topper lol. I was pretty tipsy by then. Thanks for sharing your beers!

Waited even longer in the Group C line, but finally got my DL and a 2yr Portuguese brandy BADL. Planned on dropping those off at the hotel and returning but made the mistake of sobering up enough to feel exhausted. I'm just shocked but happy that my gf is already talking about next year.

Ain't that the truth. Might be time to realign your priorities if you're "forced" to flip your bottles to afford your ComEd bill.

This is actually a very relevant question.

Same ingredients, nibs, coriander, and cardamom, just in a bourbon barrel

Agreed, thought it was strange my lanyard wasn't ripped when I got my Golden Ticket.

I didn't see anyone taking multiple Golden Tickets but not surprised it happened.

Last year Biggleswade was nibs, cardamom, and orange peel.

Also, they are 750's and they've always been 750's as long as we've been bottling the variants.

No it was coriander, just mistyped somewhere and repeated a bunch of times.

Don't be the one bitching if FFF increases next year's price to $60, which would be hilarious.

I think the article in question said regular Dark Lord would be $20 for 750ml.

Just drank it, no orange peel. And good thing too, b/c Alpha Klaus with Orange Peel was not that good. Bigglesewade on the other-hand was great.

It all depends if you value being a capitalist or a connoisseur. Sadly, the former are far outnumbering the later nowadays.
