The Oaks had a waiting list last year and I actually got a call a week or two before the festivus. Probably worth asking if they are doing the same this year for those of you still looking

I do hotel work. When a group like FW holds the room with a drop date, that means if there are any rooms left in their "block" they will be opened to the public 30 days in advance. So, if the Adelaide held 50 rooms for FW, and all 50 rooms were booked 2 months ago, then even if you called a month ago, these rooms would no longer be available.

    Got it. That makes sense.

My suggestion is to call regularly, especially closer to May 28th, and check for cancellations. I can almost guarantee there will be rooms available as some people will cancel for whatever reason. You and everyone else just need to be persistent in calling.

This is good advice. Same for people still looking for tickets. Every year they have had the event there have been a fair number of tickets available at the very least a few days before the event. It might not be as plentiful this year as there was only one ticket release and it was three(ish) month until the event versus past years when it was on sale on Thanksgiving. People buy tickets/rooms and then stuff happens and/or they don't realize Paso is a four hour trip from LA/SF and decide not to go at the last minute.

I'm sure I'll be able to get something. Thanks for the info.

Any googledocs out there for IP trades during the event?

Anyone looking for a random dude to crash on your hotel floor/couch, etc. What an offer!

Seriously, though, flying solo this year, can provide rad bottle share fodder

To me this is moot and a better option is to open with one another a bottle of rare shit. I know I'm cracking cases of the special stuff for this festive occasion.

Exactly. This came up earlier in the thread as well. I have yet to care about an IP trade at FWIBF because I'm too busy opening my bottles to share with everyone who is doing the same.

Where can one participate in such a share? First time at FWIBF this year, I know me and @treshojas are down to crack some goodies!

I believe it was said before but I do believe it was the Adelaide as the place to be for bottle shares.

Adelaide is a fine back up if you don't have a circle jerk group to hang out with and pop them rar whalez.

I know I'm over at the vineyard airbnb this year like I was last year and that was just disgusting in what was being left on the table half filled.

There were 2 different areas at Adelaide last year. Good times

Managed to get a room at the Adelaide. I was nervous about it at first that somehow he booked me for next year or something but I got both the email confirmation and the printed out confirmation in the mail.

I skipped the bottle shares last year because a few friends of mine were at the La Quinta and I just hung out over there with them. Might have to get involved this year.

Just confirming the big bottle share at Adelaide is the night before the festival correct? Had some friends that will be staying in Paso for the festival asking.

The night before is the better one. It is normally in the picnic area and the pool area.

The one we had immediately after the event at the pool was awesome too. I don't remember leaving. Not sure how I didn't drown.

There have been shares at the Best Western Black Oak after the event also, although not sure about prior.

I cannot imagine drinking after the festival. Unless it's at like 9PM after I take a serious nap.
