Doppelbocks are becoming my style of choice! Everything I look for in a beer.

    Musical Selection:

The Musical break in this song is why I love Doom Metal...period!

I couldn't agree more with you! This was the only Barley Wine to set the Bar for Me. I hate and love Goose Island for doing that too.

Don't normally drink stouts when it's warm out, but it has been a long week already.

I agree, man. Sucaba is still in my top 3, but I hate to say that Goose Island may have the top barrel aged barley wine out there.

Yeah, after having this a few times Sucaba is in third. Central Waters is a Hefty Second! I did have this year's Sucaba and I was left underwhelmed. Still a monster but not what I remember having.

Grey Sail Captain's Daughter, at sunset. Please excuse the reflections in the picture, I had to take it quick as the sunset was about to disappear. Also, that is not a mixing stick in my beer, but a telephone pole!

    Anyway....cheers!

I have a Sucaba in the cellar just waiting to be consumed. Based on my ratings, I have BCBBW and Sucaba tied with very high ratings. However, there are some very highly rated barleywines that I've yet to experience. I've had the Central Waters BA Stout and it was fantastic so I can assume that the barleywine is just as good.

It almost felt warm earlier, and now we're back into November weather. Not that I'm really complaining.

Really enjoying this one, these have sat about three months on my shelf-cellar and the coffee has mellowed a little and is letting the vanilla and chocolate flavors shine though more.

    Cheers!
