So you won't be returning to Fenway because they price gouge on beer? It's a ballpark, not a bar.

Here's hoping Smuttynose Vunderbar pils in cans trickles into the park as well.

I won't be returning to Fenway because its a dump, everything is over priced, and the team sucks.

Ouch if you think the team with 3 titles in 10 years sucks, I don't want to hear the adjectives you would have for the Bruins and Celtics (although the Garden has MUCH better beer selection at a couple bar areas there!).

That works great if you're in Phoenix. If you're in Boston, with no opportunity to see games elsewhere, it doesn't work so well.
That said, I did get to see a game in Phienix a few years ago - 24 OZ SNPA for $10 or $12, I think - couldn't complain about that. PLus it is a nice stadium to see a game.

Craft beer at sports venues is a growing trend. Gillette has made big strides with beer at Pats Place. Have not been to a game in 3yrs so couldn't tell you what they serve. They use to have Sam.

This story is almost 20 years old but still holds just as true based on the list above. Years back I visited a friend in LA and we went to a Dodgers game. I am told to go get beers for the four of us so I do, thinking I'll have to make two trips back but whatever.

I ask the beer lady how many beers I can get.

"How many do you want?" Is the reply.

I ask again, how many can I get.

    "How many do you WANT?"

    "4"

She pulls out four enormous cups and starts filling them. I ask her if those are the large beers (which is fine, if so.)

She pauses for a second and says "You're from New York or Boston, aren't you?"

Apparently all of us are so stunned by the size and price (and ability to order as many as you can carry or more) that it throws us off kilter the first time we order.

Suffice to say good times were had at that game.

I'll say it again to keep giving steam to this idea. Sam Adams Roof Deck. Make it happen.

I'd settle for a few tap locations throughout the stadium along the lines of what Sweet Water has at Turner Field though. Maybe even through on a few guest taps to keep on supporting the local scene.

If you stroll in dead sober to The Fens and are a thirstin' for craft brews.....that's a rookie mistake....like counting on Clay to be your ace. Better get that arse to BBW or Cask and Flag and prime the engine.

Yup ... Cask & Flagon is a shit show on game day. BBW is just ok. Have not walked into either for at least five years now.

Eastern Standard and ICOH work in a pinch as well for a quick beer or two before the game.

Agreed that BBW is just OK. I usually put up with Cask for the atmosphere. Coming from CT I dont get to go to as many games as I would like. When push comes to shove, find a place with a couple of decent IPAs on tap and smile.

Not likely to happen so long as Budweiser owns the right field roof deck. Sam Adams isn't much of an upgrade to what else is currently available in the park, IMO.

Bukowskis is also a close walk to the park, and Citizen Oyster House flies under the radar as well.

Tasty Burger (the one outside the park on Boylston St.) is also a pretty solid choice for can craft beers and cheap burgers, even if the draft list is pretty unimaginative. Audubon on Beacon St. in about a 5 minute walk and has a strong but small draft list and a good menu, too.

Fenway was fun when I was a kid, in high, college and sort of fun in my 20's. It's too small, crowded, hot, pain in the ass and overall I just don't care to go to games there at all. We need a new stadium. Could care less if they tore it down, but there is no where to put a new one.

the prices are and have always been absurd for anything in the park. Hell a water can be $3

Lower depths and/or yard house before hand. Don't be a college kid and go to cask.... And then find green monsta while you inside. That's about it.
