    borderline readily available, maybe at the moment it is, but the new release of silva stout from green flash is absolutely insane. definitely worth the 20 bucks they ask for it. blown away

    The answer up until a week ago was undoubtedly Old Raspy. I had Ten Fidy for the first time last weekend and now I have 2 go to stouts.

    I would agree, but i think the OP means year-round options. My vote would go to Evil Twin's I love you with my stout

    Fixed. :wink::stuck_out_tongue:

    Best readily available non imperial stout is hands down Sierra Nevada Stout. So solid for an everyday non impy stout.

    The best stout is, as with any other beer, simply the one you like most. Other peoples choices may not correspond with your own tastes.Identify the features that you like and those you don't and work from there.

    A bit pricey, but a great tasting big stout..... You mean people still drink stouts lower than 10%?

    Founders Breakfast Stout for an imperial stout and Deschutes Obsidian for a slightly lighter stout. Easy.

    Edit: The Yeti variants are always solid as well. Yeti itself turns into a liquid brownie at about 5 years.

    Ten Fidy and Old Raspy are probably my favorite American made ones.
    My favorite stout overall however is Guinness Foreign Extra; for me, that one defines stout.

    If readily available seasonals count, then I'd say FBS.

    If not, I'd say Bear Republic Big Bear

    Sierra Nevada stout all the way. Its an amazing, yet very simple beer. Seems like a lot of folks write off a stout these days if it doesn't have a high ABV and contain some odd ingredients.

    Agree on the Breakfast Stout! I stocked up this winter because it was limited and a liquor store in town STILL has a few packs left of it! Best stout out there, hands down.
