They are not saying (yet) from everything I've read. I know a guy that works at KI and he said he would let me know if/when he finds out.
After reading the news story on it, this was my exact thoughts. Im gonna try to make it down for it, but will try extra hard if Rhinegeist is brewing the beers for it.
My guess is Sam Adams, Moerlein or Mt. Carmel. Could be way off base, but would be my guess based on visibility and KI probably trying to keep costs as low as possible on their end. I wonder to myself if they are taking AB or Miller kegs that a lot of places don't offer (Amber bock, Third Shift, whatever) or if they are actually getting their own beer brewed for them. I had hoped that the article would give a hint of whether it would be packaged or not, would give me a hint.
It says in the article it is brewed for them by a vendor. I was under the impression it was being brewed for them.
It is confirmed, thankfully, that it is indeed a local brewer- which one, is still the $50 million question. There's also a possible "beer fest" at King's Island in the planning stages. Maybe we'll get confirmation on both (brewer/ beer fest) at the same time? (My bet on brewer is Rivertown, as they have a contract brewing history. Moerlein would be my next guess. I'd rule out Madtree and Rhinegeist as they both have overly high demand as is.)
Beer fest has been confirmed for mid-June. I'll try and find exact dates. EDIT: As for the event, the Banshee Brew Festival will take place from June 12-13 and will feature more than 20 breweries from Cincinnati and the region. (A list should be finalized within the next couple of weeks, Helbig said.) Food and live entertainment will be offered. Ticket prices are also still to be determined, though there will be separate prices for season pass holders, Helbig said. http://www.indystar.com/story/enter...beer-festival-park-only-craft-beers/26569239/
Check this out coming to Kings Island & Cedar Point... ohio.com/blogs/the-beer-blog/the-beer-blog-1.273124/cedar-point-kings-island-releasing-exclusive-brews-1.587181
I'm guessing Moerlein. That was the best brew available at KI when I lived down there in the 80s. Moerlein or Hudy 14k while waiting in line for the beast. Good times.
