They MAY have done so. I agree with you, they are a first class operation.

Chocolate Yeti isn't barrel aged (it gets oak chips), but it's so damn good, sometimes I wonder why I waste my money on pricier beers like Abyss and Parabola. I really wish it was available in four packs, and gear round.

Speaking along the lines of BA Yeti, it's making its return this year. Let's hope they fixed their barrel-aging issues.

On the topic of barrel aged stouts, you'd all do yourselves a mighty favor to go by Comrade today for their bday party... whiskey BA Quit Stalinon tap today. Plus a shit load of other things that I'm already excited for and they don't open for another hour...

Quit Stalin was quite tasty. I enjoyed quite a few of Comrade's beers. Sobering up now for a trip to Trve later this evening for their whiskey aged stout.

Just so you all know, the BA Yeti was infected but far from a drain pour.

Had the BA Stalin: very good, I would have liked a little more body from the base beer (which I tried separately) but still very nice.
The Whiskey Barrel Aged Man Oar-Board I didn't care for . I tried like crazy put put my finger on exactly what bugged me, but the best I could come up with was : not enough of the actual whiskey showed up and it had some weird after flavor I couldn't quite pinpoint. I wanna say funk-hop? Whatever it was, it didn't work for me.

The Macallen 18 Imperial Stout at Copper Kettle was flat out stunning. THAT, was a bad-ass BA Stout. It trumped anything I had from either brewery today by miles.

Lots of people thought it was too sweet, but I love the BA Man Oar-Board. I think I was the first person to do a large fill of it and that was around 5'ish. To me it's what I like about beers like Sucaba and the first round of Bligh's.

Had the Macallan 18 Imperial Stout at Copper Kettle yesterday too and agree - it is great. Had some Parabola earlier in the day and must say this one can hold its own.

BA Man Oar-Board reminded me of a Crooked Stave beer of a few years ago (of course, I forget the name) that had a nice persuasion of toasted marshmallow. This one had more of a toasted caramel marshmallow--that exists, right? Many BA beers are more whiskey than beer, but this one had a nice lighter balance. And it wasn't a stout or barleywine!

My favorite to date BA stout is by far Ten Fidy in Wild Turkey barrels. It was phenomenal. Fidy is also my favorite regular stout.

I had Makers Mark BA Old Chub and that same Wild turkey BA Ten Fidy during GABF 2012 @ falling rock. I thought I was gonna explode from happiness.

Went there on Saturday and loved the BA Firecatcher. Also had that mixed with their coffee beer and it was fantastic!

I had Makers Mark Ten Fidy. Pretty damn good. Wish OB would expand their barrel aging

Surprising? A good brewery making a good beer... surprising?

Yes, surprising because barrel-aged stouts are not easy to do and I'm not a homer.
