We’re excited to announce the release of Boxer’s Revenge Blend 7! Boxer’s Revenge is our sour, barrel-aged strong ale. It wasn’t the first beer we ever released at Jester King, but it was the first beer we ever brewed back in September of 2010.

Blend 7 was brewed with Hill Country well water, malted barley, malted wheat, and hops. It slowly fermented in oak barrels with our mixed culture of microorganisms consisting of brewers yeast and native yeast and bacteria harvested from the air and wildflowers around our brewery in the Texas Hill Country. Most of the blend has been slowly maturing in our barrel room since July of 2013. It was blended and naturally reconditioned in bottles, kegs, and casks this January.

Blend 7 is 10.8% alcohol by volume, has a finishing gravity of 0.998, and was 3.3 pH at the time of bottling. It will be released when our tasting room opens at 4pm on Friday, May 1st. It will be available by the glass, as well as to go in 750ml bottles ($16, limit 3 per customer per day). Approximately 3,000 bottles are available.

That would be nice but highly doubtful. I haven't had it since it was available in DFW. Reminds of the good 'ole days when I could walk in the local store and grab it off the shelf.

With 3k bottles, I doubt it leaves the brewery.

I used to see all kinds of JK goodies on the shelf at Central Market. Finally decided to try a bottle one day and CM got all whiny about Jester King doing brewery only releases and pulled everything off the shelves. Sad day :slight_frown:

I'd be surprised if it didn't make it to June. Mostly because my closet is too full to buy cases of it :stuck_out_tongue:

More likely what happened was they virtuoso pulled their product off the shelves when jester king moved to flood. Nothing to do with the retailer or the brewery

Not trying to derail the thread but the former beer guy in CM Southlake had nothing positive to say about JK and specifically said they pulled it because they stopped getting the good stuff.

That's interesting, that's f'in interesting man. I'll go ahead and get it out of the way before someone else does. Not that I know any of that is fact but doesn't it go something like this "sounds like CM has a sense of entitlement and now there's a lot of butt hurt"?

Pulled it because they stopped getting the good stuff? I find the shelf stuff is still good stuff. Guess you cannot make everyone happy.

Sounds like some people online (not necessarily here) who believe that JK owes them beer just because.

That's the vibe I got from him. I probably would have been pissed at the time, too. CM Southlake is a good store, so hopefully nobody takes this as a shot against them. I imagine the dude has gotten over it by now. Just regurgitating what was said to me at that given time. I was just getting in to craft beer and wanted me some JK. Ended up driving around the area and discovered the wonderfulness called Hall's and Lonestar Beverages!

I don't get how anyone could possibly have anything against Jester King, though. Such good people.

I'll admit I was very upset at first when they decided to release only at the brewery. I'm over it now because I can see where that money has been going. Also, shelf aged Noble King is fantastic! Gotta let the hops drop off a bit though.

I'm still upset they don't distribute but thats for selfish reasons, I don't blame them one bit and never have. I would be lying if I said "hey, that's great, I don't mind driving 9 hours round trip and possibly spending extra money on a hotel just to get a beer that I used to be able to get off the shelf".

Hopefully someday they'll expand enough to start distributing again (even though the distribution laws suck).

I agree that its frustrating to not be able to go down there often enough to sample all these delicious JK releases. However I don't blame them for keeping their batches small and not having to deal with greedy distributors. They should start some sort of membership club where you can reserve so many of the limited release bottles per quarter/year. You could then go there and scoop them up when you get the chance. Just a suggestion.

All that does is take away incentives for people to go down there each weekend. So, that won't ever happen. And, as a local, I am happy it won't ever happen.
