I'm doing 3 nights in Vancouver & 1 night in Bellingham. Bellingham night is Sunday May 24th, I plan on hitting majority of the breweries. Hotel is centrally located to all breweries.

You might want to juggle your schedule, if you can. That Sunday is Ski-to-Sea race day here in town, and it's generally a shit show to try to get anywhere. Most places will be busy, if not downright packed. Expect long waits at any bar or restaurant. Shoot me a BM if you want some more details.

I know that some of the previous bottles made it to Seattle, I would suspect some of these would too.

That works, but you'll want to add Boundary Bay in. Downtown won't be too crazy until 3-5ish, when racers start coming back from Fairhaven. Also, unless you're really hunting for bottles, I'd skip ES. Hit Wander after Kulshan, and there's a trail that takes you right to Cnut. Saves some walking time. And, ES is just up the street from Cnut, so you can just go up from there. That would also save you some time/distance.

I don't know what my schedule will be like that weekend, or that day yet. Maybe we can meetup. And, just check everybody's hours on their websites, for sure Wander, Kulshan, BB have teams, and Cnut and Aslan do too, so they might alter their hours on race day.

    1) If you cannot go to all of the breweries in town, I would recommend Chuckanut, and Wander. BB is a classic and has good food, Kulshan is OK, Aslan is coming around, but if you can only get to a couple please get to Chuckanut and Wander.

    2) There are a number of "session ales" brewed locally, almost all Chuckanut beers are <6% as well. If you want to get a growler fill (or two). I strongly recommend Elizabeth Station, they are constantly rotating taps, and have growler fills from $10 and up, as well as an amazing bottle selection.

Vancouver will be fun, the 24th is going to be a VERY busy day in Bellingham, but sounds like you've got a good location to stay and walk. It is a very walkable town, have fun.

Go for it, Elizabeth Station and Chuckanut are pretty much neighbors, very easy to walk to and from. Depending on what time you head out, you should be able to get to all of them without too much extra traffic.

BB is good to check out if you haven't already done so, beers are good and so is the food. I'd still go to Elizabeth Station even if you aren't bottle hunting specifically, there will be good beer on tap and you might be surprised at what is on the shelves as well.

    Cheers!

This years was released on 4/24 and distributed locally 4/28, lots are available locally, quite certain that a few made their way down to Seattle as well.

I meant the previous barrel release, the Sour Saison. The regular stuff gets down as well.

Well, $10 is pretty much the basic growler price anywhere in town that fills, but that's gonna be regular beers that are easily available. ES is the only place in town to get $50+ growler fills though. ES does have the best bottle selection in town, but if Bham gets it, so does Seattle. A couple Canadian BAs I know make regular runs to ES, because it's cheaper than in Canadia, but they have pretty heavy taxes.

Ah, gotcha, Wild Warehouse was good as well, really like the BA Global Mutt too.

Yeah you never really know what to expect, they certainly have a wide price range for growler fills, which is nice. I think Stickee Monkee is going for $54 for a fill right now. For the most part Seattle and Bellingham share distribution (with some intricacies). They do get a lot of Canadian traffic as well, which is great. Certainly easier to get to ES than Chuck's if you're coming from BC.

It's not set in stone yet, but I think I should be free that day. Be happy to provide local knowledge.

Elizabeth station is the best place to get beer in Bham, Chuckunut is the only world class brewery there in my opinion, being from there...

EVERYTHING is cheaper, even with the 20% 'Merica tax you impose on us. I'd still hit a growler of Stickee Monkee for $50 :grinning:

I am going to be in town Saturday for a wedding...anything new to add to this thread from anyone in the know? We will likely make it to town mid-day and grab lunch at a brewery or beer centric spot then hit a brewery or two before the wedding...obviously not going to go crazy before the wedding but definitely want to try out a few spots and we do not mind walking so the map shown above might be the plan unless you guys tell me that is no longer the best option?

    Thanks in advance!
