In round 3 I actually looked at distances between people (I was really trying to spread things out) and had put everyone on mapquest / google maps. I didn't save all my paperwork, but IIRC you would have been correct at that time -- over 900 miles from the next closest active local. However, @surlytwinsfan moved to Oregon recently and is only about 250 miles from you -- which means @Kylo76 is officially more isolated (and I didn't really check all the intra-Texas and intra-California distances).

 

Having been married over 30 years, I can tell you that reading that quote and neither hearing her tone nor seeing her facial expression when she said it means this could be either a really good thing or a really bad thing.

I don't think @LehighAce06 implemented the joining LIF rule until we had completed at least round 3? And maybe even after the winter sixer...

 

That isn't "sad" at all, I love the idea of everyone getting a boss pour of such a great beer! Personally I've had the pleasure of having it a couple times, but never two vintages at the same time. I have a guess though that the group as a whole will be better with everyone getting as much as they please from whichever bottle is open. Either way it'll be a rare treat.

My cluster bomb is out for deliver in a town that is, or soon will be, a suspected Yankee stronghold.

 

I only have 7 years under my belt, but we've been together 14..... This is exactly what I was thinking.

 

WOAH! It's not a "rule" by any stretch. No one is ever required to do a LIF.

I suggest the idea because most that join this group are like-minded and would want to do it, if they knew about it, and would feel badly later (exhibit A: two different people 'confessing' that they hadn't).

 

"Rule" was too strong a word, but in reality what you suggested and when you suggested it both made sense, because by that time we had started sending boxes randomly all over the country all the time (until somewhere around round 3, we were doing rounds every 3 months or so, with about half of them having reasonably small ounce limits; after that we started sending bigger boxes, the sixterhood, and a variety of LIFs and ninja boxes).

And yes, the fact that people confessed was why I was pointing out they had joined before we became this out-of-control thing that we are now and meant to imply they should not feel any obligation.

 

I must admit, I've been getting a touch nervous..
