I don't understand how any brewery could let a beer sit in a barrel for 2 years and avoid any infection.

Yeah, this is a major bummer to hear. We're looking into the half-fills and the reports of infected bottles as we speak, and we'll have much better information (as well as a solution to make it right!) after our meeting tomorrow. If you can't wait that long, you're welcome to bring your bottle(s) back—filled, empty, or anywhere in between—for a full refund, no questions asked. More details to come; thanks all for your patience, understanding, loyalty, and hopefully forgiveness.

    Cheers,
    Randy Clemens

After deciding I would take my bottle back on lunch break Tuesday for a full refund, I decided to open mine and see what all the fuss was about: infected drainpour. Terrible.

Damn it! Was very excited about this and thirsting to try it. Had my sis but a bottle with her husband. We were gonna pop them open and taste. Anyone know if they'll take back opened bottles? Assuming they are infected?

Randy Clemens of Stone addressed this just a few posts up. But in short, refunds will be given, no questions asked, filled, half-filled, or empty.

Bummer. Good thing Stone has stepped up and I believe will make it right.

Best case you opened 1 of your apparently multiple bottles and it was good, but can return all your other unopened bottles and even the empty good bottle for a full refund.

Or worst case you opened one and it was bad, still can return them.

Alpine needs to pay attention to what is happening here so they can learn something about customer service.

I contacted Stone this afternoon & the person I spoke with basically reiterated what Randy said above. I was worried because Escondido is a trek for me, they advised to try it out & if there are any off flavors to contact QC via email & they would work it out. Just feeling glad that I won't have to drive 2hrs one way to return the bottle! Crossing my fingers that it will be a delicious one. Was told by Stone that about ~20% were coming in as sour so there's a good chance I could have a tasty one

Props to Stone for addressing the issue!
