One of my local bottle shop guys said Small Town Brewery was owned by Pabst, is this true? The reason I ask, is because I asked who it was distributed by in Orlando and he said Florida Distributing Company (FDC), which led him to say that he heard they were now owned by Pabst. I checked their website and found nothing. Could be just a rumor?

Let me know what you know!

Probably using their distribution system to get where they need to. Big beer has an extensive distribution system set up so for many craft breweries, it's a necessary evil if they want to get their beer in the hands of outside markets. Can't hand deliver everywhere!

Took a look at their website, which was pretty slick, but didn't have much info on it. Seems like they're a pretty small operation.

A friend at work knows the head brewer/operator fairly well, had been telling me about this brewery for years. I believe it is independently owned with some financial backing from outside but no overall ownership from a larger brewery.

I had a woman pouring samples at a store say it was owned by Pabst as well. I checked the website but it doesn't list anything although I've read the Blue Moon website doesn't mention Coors at all so it wouldn't surprise me.

I have heard the rumor as well, but nothing confirmed. Their recent rapid expansion leads me to believe there are some big powers behind it.
I doubt the website would ever mention anything about being owned by Pabst, but it does say "My great-great-grandfather from the 1600s was the captain of a ship in England." is it just me, or does that genealogical math require quite a few more "greats"?

Pabst is distributing NYFRB, which explains why like 50 cases hit each of the major beer stores around here a couple weeks ago.

The epitome of a "one and done" beer.

no they are independently owned, and they have been contract brewing in Wisconsin because the facility in Illinois is way too small to meet demands

    What he said ^^^

I live right down the street from the source. The la cross building is solely for the extra bottling, sounds like the rest of America is starting to see the 5.9% though. Still gotta get the 10% in growlers if you want it bottled. Maybe some kegs of the 10 will land in certain places, but the only thing is though you have to get your own tap line for it installed because that beer will ruin any existing one. The sugar and coloring corod the lines and they turn black colored from it. So you have to use the same one for that one beer forever.. still a great beer, but don't plan on it leaving after you start carrying it.

Pabst has a sales arraingement with them now. At one point (and maybe still?) Phusion Brands had a stake in ownership of the brand.

I had a suspicion they're affiliated somehow with Minhas. I got nothing concrete to back that up, other than their similar locations, product aesthetics, and empty evocations of traditions that are obviously fabricated.

Sure looks like the some portion of the "beer" is contract-brewed at City's breweries, based on their own TTB COLA's:

Well there's the official stamp, so it looks like they're doing some brewing too to take some slack off of the main brewery in the burbs.

So my buddy who works for Pabst was pouring this at a beer fest last night at his PBR tent. I think that answers this question.

Really? How does that answer the question of ownership of the brewery?

No it doesn't if Pabst has a sales and distribution stake. The Brewery needed an established sales and distro, doesn't mean ownership. The question still exists.

I heard rumors that Not your father's was just a spirit with root beer spices in it rather than actual beer.

I've seen their stuff everywhere since this winter but I didn't know people were getting it across the country.
