Three house has great IPAs and IIPAs but no tasteroom and they don't have 6+ on a board at a given time. Great brewery but it's a different animal.

You can get samples, just not pints. They don't have the same number of taps but they're constantly turning over with demand and releasing multiple cans every week, so it's splitting hairs. This week they poured Julius, King Julius, Sap, Light On, Green & Curiosity 15 (their IPA series) in addition to Double Shot (Stout) & Eureka (Blonde with Citra).

Lets also not forget Tree House is in the middle of fucking nowhere and if you want to go and enjoy some beer there (which is only samples) you better have a DD with you if you plan on over-indulging on samples.

Same goes for NEBCO. It's not "in the middle of nowhere" but the only way you can get there is by driving 3+ hours.

Beer'd is fantastic but when I was there they did not sell pints and, again, you can only get there by driving.

Other Half stands out because they have such a diversity of great IPAs (and other beer) and you can get there by train if necessary.

I've been to TH 3 times, and only one time were they serving samples. With 2 oz. pours of a few beers on tap, you'd be hard pressed to get anywhere alcohol wise.

If the point is that breweries not in NYC are not accessible by subway, then OK. We we're talking about other breweries cranking out consistently great IPA/DIPA/APAs..

    Also, Beer'd serves pints.

    um Hill Farmstead?

Their draft list is primarily IPA's/APA's year round and their "shelf" beers are all saisons. Haven't heard any complaints besides the long lines.

Went there twice this weekend after being blown away Saturday. I came back and filled the growlers I drained. My only regret is going to visit other places in NYC...

AGE on at Whole Foods Brooklyn for $11/22 32oz/64oz. Has to be a mistake on beermenus because it's usually $20 for 32oz at OH.

Not sure if it was AGE or GD but I got 64oz. growlers at Eastern District last year for $19.50.
Also last year was before the hype started getting out of hand.
I think most breweries charge more for growlers than the take away craft places.

Yeah, usually by a dollar or two but that is a huge difference. That's what makes me think it's a misprint.

Those are actually the right prices, my coworker picked up a growler of AGE from WF Brooklyn last weekend and he only paid $22 for 64 oz.

No I think that's normal - WF, bars and other places get a lower price on kegs so they can make a profit. I think growlers in general are kind of loss leaders in that they get ppl into the store, hopefully customers purchase something else too.

OH can charge what they want at the brewery b/c it has a captive audience - ppl go out of their way to visit, have some pints and maybe want to take a growler home with them.
