Shandy, I got to try the I'm Sad at Pizza Boy yesterday. It was a really odd color, a very light brown, almost able to see through it at times, though it may have been an early pour as it seemed to get darker later in the evening. As far as taste it was very espresso heavy and tasted much like coffee. I didn't get a ton of it but others mentioned a sweet finish from the local honey.

This can be delicate to me. I really dislike when your server doesn't come around when you've got an empty glass. I think I'd rather be asked too often as compared to too infrequently.

I agree with you. During my experience today, I had my server come up to me four times (for a pretty short meal, mind you) to ask if I everything was okay but my drink only got refilled once and was empty the fourth time she came back but didn't even fill it up.

That's when you ask for a refill....you're allowed to speak to them you know.

Can't blame you there. I've never been to FedDo, but I've had the $16 fried chicken at a couple different beer joints. Never once thought it was worth the money, or even close. I don't mind paying $16 for a small-ish portion of fried chicken if it's mind-blowing, but it never is. To be honest, I'd rather go to Popeye's too. Best fried chicken you can get up here, and cheapest. I've been eating that shit for like 15 years now, it's still the best.

Or you know, she could do her job, look at the cups to see that it's low on water, and fill it without being asked? I eventually did ask; I shouldn't have to. Having talked to Jean about his vision in terms of the food/restaurant and how he wants it to be "the best on the Main Line", I'd argue that good service is inclusive of this, especially given the fact that they are now attracting an older, more affluent customer base.

Went tonight for dinner. Tacos were good, not Earth shattering. Food is high quality and markup is pretty consistent at each location. After dinner walked over to the old spot - which I enjoyed much more.

Had a chance to check out the new place the other day. The food is definitely way overpriced. The ceviche was smallish, and echoing what others have said, you only get two taco. I thought both fish and brisket were tasty, but a tad dry. I was starving so I enhaled them, but could definitely see people being rankled about no condiments. Either way $10-13 is too high for only two tacos. Laughed at the chicken and lamb options. Would never pay that at a place like this. Also the oysters was an order of 3 - that's GTFO territory.....

Beers were solid as you would expect. Like others, I really enjoyed Vaporizer. I'm Sad was not that great - too coffee heavy for me. Thesaurus was solid, but not sure I'd rush back for it. Passed on any growlers

There is metered parking right next door and they WILL ticket you. Saw a few on windshields and we were only there about an hour or so.

Count me among those who like the old place much better. New set up is a little sterile for me.

Troegs used to sell a couple pieces of fried chicken skins (yes just skin, no meat) and a slice or two of bread for like $9.

That's interesting to hear- I probably would have enjoyed it if it was that espresso forward- I think the addition of honey scared me off a bit (and the fact that I was already a few pours in) because I was thinking it might be too sweet

I have to agree, the pricing on the food seems way too high, even with a focus on fresh local ingredients. There's simply no way you can justify a $38 lamb shank. I could go over to Sullivan's and have a prime 12 oz. strip for that price, with the ambiance of a fine steakhouse and the excellent service that comes with. Plus if I wanted to do something heretical like put A1 on it, they wouldn't tell me that the chef doesn't allow it.

The prices at the cafe always seemed a tad high, but I can live with a $10 panini that I know is going to fill me up.

So one week in, lots of reviews on poor service. I liked the one review on Yelp where the person asked for the mayo or whatever on the side and was told that the chef may sometimes eliminate an ingredient upon request but will never put an ingredient on the side. Seriously, WTF is up with this attitude? You must have pretty big balls to put that level of investment into a place and approach that investment with an attitude that seems to be fairly common across the Yelp reviews and to employ staff like that and at least one of the hostesses who seems to catch a lot of flak as well in the reviews.

I can't wait for them to brew beers and name them after these reviews like they did when a patron wrote a bad review a few years ago (poor taste by TH imo). I'm looking forward to the following beers: Fat Kid Obsessed with Drawing Dick Picks (FKOwDDP), They Never Returned My Message and Three Oysters is Highway Robbery.

Yes, someone complains about loud music and you make fun of them and then name a beer about it. After they spent their money at your place no less.

Ha-ha, I am not sure I even understood that one fully but I did cast a funny vote for it.
