If you can't find good IPA's in NJ you aren't trying to.

Victory Hop Devil or Two Hearted should be available in your area for an IPA...90 minute or DirtWolf for DIPAs

Seen it mentioned at least one other time but racer 5 is a really good choice. Head north a bit and grab some sea hag or better yet Gbot.

Victory Hop Ranch is delicious. Smuttynose Finestkind is a pretty good go-to. Fresh Squeezed from Deschutes is one of my favorites and still relatively cheap.

Spellbound IPA is a very good NJ beer. If you visit Carton, you can almost always get 2-4 4 packs of 077XX at a time.

Lots of great suggestions here, covering a wide range (to my palate's sense at least) of the IPA offerings. Only mentioned a few times, though, was Captain Lawrence IPA. Reasonably priced and always pleasing. I'm looking to try some of their new DIPA I've heard about.

The guys from Carton based their IPA off of Flower Power.

I am not a fan of overly thick/ sweet IPA's. I prefer lighter, more citrusy flavors. With that in mind:

Deschutes Fresh squeezed is a pleasant, citrus-forward beer. It is light on bitterness with a more rounding malt presence.

While it is a pale ale, SN pale ale is also pretty good. Very session-able with a pleasant hop kick.

Victory Hop Devil is extremely well-balanced. I did wish it had a touch more carbonation, but overall a very solid beer.

Racer 5 (or even X), it can be a bit thick as it warms, but overall, the carbonation and the beautiful citrusy hops makes this a definite for the IPA rotation.

Not sure how readily available Carton is in NJ, but the ones I've tried have been solid like 0077xx and Boat Beer for a session IPA.

what you are mistaking is me saying that we started carton around boat because we were drinking so much beer like flower power back in 2010. boat was a solution to our bad multiple doubles like fp and 90 in a row nights. so we made a super hoppy session strength beer. no worries just for clarity
