Stone is very wise when things work. Ruinten and Lucky Bastard are two examples of beers I thought would only one and they were wise and brought them back. They will do the right thing.

Based on its 8% ABV I'd say 9 months or so is the outer limit before some oxidation will start to creep in, a year before it becomes noticeable even to someone who is not sensitive to that effect (I am). Much longer than a year and between the likely oxidation and the flavor from the adjuncts falling off, it will be a shadow of its former self. Definitely not one meant for aging, much as I'd love it to be.

Had one the other night, the peppers are slightly more noticeable and the cinnamon has become a bit more subdued from what I remember originally

I was in Tijuana last week and went to Insurgente to ask for this beer specifically because I was in Mexico when it was released. They said they didn't get any and it never made it south of the border. How is that even possible?! Insurgente/Mexican craft beer drinkers really the shaft on that one.

Is it really this good? Is there any chance it's still available anywhere?!

I hope they bring back the 15th Anniversary Black IPA in some way, that one was dope.

Seriously...best Imperial Black IPA and best beer from Stone I've ever had. Now that's a petition I would sign!

Never had it. Bought a bottle as a gift for someone who I knew had already had it and liked it, but never managed to snag one for myself. Didn't even realize at the time that it was A: so limited, and B: so highly praised.

Nonetheless...formally petitioning a brewery to bring back a beer just feels a little silly to me. I mean, I loved Bitter Chocolate Oatmeal Stout, but I'm not sad that it's gone - I just look forward to seeing what new brews they come up with instead.

Love this beer and I'll definitely sign this petition. But, I'd recommend drinking them fresh, cuz I had one last week, and it definitely fell off.

I think that Lips of Faith / New Belgian's Cocoa Mole should be released on even years and Stone's Xocoveza be released on odd years.

A Bourbon barrel version would be amazing, but it's already been done: Breakside's Bourbon Barrel Aztec.

Petition seems like the wrong wording to me. Its their brewery and their decision what they want to make. Petition makes it sound like you are going to force them to change their business.

I hear ya, but regardless, it seems as though they got the picture. They realize that it's a fan made request to bring it back. No "this gets done or else" threats. Just a basic push to make something good happen.

Not to mention that Greg Koch from Stone seemed to be very ok with the petition:

Well said. I get pissed every time I read a comment about banning nitro beers or how barrel aging beers need to stop, etc. There are too many "factual" opinions around here. I like to advocate drinking beer, and I hope that you all have the opportunity to drink what you like. Especially Xocoveza:wink::grinning:

It was good, but why would you want it this readily available? Takes the mystique away and the want to obtain it if you can just get it whenever you like.
