They're going to make it as often as the hop supplies allow which is essentially March-September. While it's not sold as a summer seasonal that's essentially what t is. From what I'm told it's going to be made until then, unlike last year.

it's totally a year round shelf beer.

last year's bottles have made it around the year and are still on the shelf.

I original thought it was going to be year round because of the way they worded a post with "You know we've been thinking...that 4 pk of Rodeo Clown looks awful lonely on the shelf. Starting in May, we're giving it a 4 pk friend at all times!" Apparently they meant that the seasonal bombers (Krunkin', Yule, HD, etc) are moving to 4-pack cans instead of bombers.

It stayed because they got it out late and two weeks after being on the shelf it was no longer that great. It falls off really fast. My guess is that most people wouldn't touch it after a month and then retailers never pulled them. I asked Karbach on Twitter and they said there will be more than one canning of HD this year so it should be available fresh through the summer.

how many casual beer drinkers do you think look at dates?

not BAs, we're on the lunatic fringe. but rather, the normal consumer. we're that old lady in clerks that gets all the milk cartons out of the fridge to find the latest dated one.

Is this making it to Austin?

True, but most casual beer drinkers are not looking for an imperial IPA to drink while grilling a burger. I think the leftover bombers were on the shelf because people knew not to buy them.

Sadly it's nowhere near as good as previous releases.

Not sure exactly why, but it's just not right... :slight_frown:

I agree with you. This is much more malty and sweet. Smells like cat pee. Nothing like I remember. Something is off. Drinking one as I write this.

I don't get the cat pee but it does have a much less of a hop punch than I remember.

Jumping on the train, but it's still better than Rodeo clown. Not sure if it's my taste buds or what, but last years seemed more fruitier/sweet.
