Called the brewery and dude said they'd sell out within the hour, FWIW.

About thirty bottles left when I asked 10 minutes ago. No line or anything.

I'm sure the bottles will taste like liquid gold. Even if they don't like it, no one will admit it after they spent $30 and drove to Victoria for a BA 7% beer that they didn't taste before they bought it. I've finally learned to stop chasing the latest release like a zombie. I live 10 minutes away & skipped it.

At least the cost is justified by the barrel cost.

Sorry I shouldn't have replied directly to your comment! I was responding more to the rush to Enki.

I find it funny Enki is barely mentioned on BA (and rated 3.4 as a brewery) and they throw a beer that most haven't even had the regular version of into a barrel & it sells so quickly. I'm happy a local brewery can pick up a quick $3k in sales. It's a trend we will see more of.

I knew we were getting it, just thought it was summer. Nice, now I don't need to drive to Hudson

Full disclosure, I went a grabbed a couple bottles today. What was nice to see, many of the people in line were locals, not beer geeks. I applaud them for making a beer and helping their brewery, it is one everyone needs to visit...great location and family friendly.

We all treat beer from certain breweries as "gold". There are lots of hidden jems around town, and most are supported by the locals. They don't always get the huge ratings from people that frequent this site, but they are usually full

It is a pretty decent beer and am glad I grabbed some, will it get me a whale, no, but I'm happy to have it and share with friends

I got my two bottles at 4 and have to say that ENKI has a cool tap room, I wish I hadn't had any commitments afterward because a few pints and a cigar on their patio looked quite appealing. Also the staff were very genuinely happy and friendly to see people lining up for their release. The line only lasted 5-10 minutes but everyone standing that wanted a beer to drink while they wait was served.

I drank one tonight with my brother.

The flavors were pretty much on point but the body was watery.

    5/10

We thought the body was thin as well, but it is a porter and not a stout so I can give that a bit of a pass. I don't expect a porter to be thick and viscous. A little thicker mouthfeel would be nice but that's clearly not what they were going for. There was a lot of barrel flavor present, some nice coffee flavor to balance it out. It's a good beer.

At any rate, glad I went and got some. My cousin lives nearby so he popped in for a pint. I was the one getting my ass whooped in giant jenga by my 8 year old.

To me, (at least the bottle we opened) it was thin even for a porter. It had a soda fizz to it and the head disipated in seconds. No lacing, even. I was half expecting some sourness but, like I said, the flavors were on point.

Waconia Brewing released their Gin Barrel-Aged Honey Ale bottles. I understand this will also get some local distribution to stores. Also available on-tap at the taproom. Interesting beer I would rate 7/10. Not too much gin, but some aromatics and botanicals in the flavor. The beer weighs in at 7.7% ABV. The barrels came from J. Carver Distillery in Waconia.

RE: Not Your Fathers Root Beer
What's all the hype about this one? Is it any good? Based on the ingredient list (artificial flavors and carmel coloring) I'll take a pass and for that matter is this stuff considered a beer?
