Anyone know where in Twin Cities a guy could find 12 packs of Schell hefe? Preferably East Metro but would take suggestions for anywhere. Thanks. I am told Heritage does not have them.
Top Ten in woodbury had them a few weeks ago anyway. Try calling Haskells to see if they do, all Schell 12pks are on sale for 11.99 until labor day.
That sure beats the 16.99 I paid for it at Four Firkins last weeks. It looks like I'll be venturing through the construction zone to buy some at South Lyndale within the next couple of days.
yikes... that is higher than the regular price ( around $14) it is most places. glad i shop at other places
Yeah, what gives with the Hefe this year? My wife likes Blue Moon, so I try to get her to drink better beer whenever I can. I stopped into Zipp's last Thursday to pick up my first Schell's Hefe of the year, and they didn't have any. I was very annoyed buying Blue Moon instead. What gives?
For me, the hefe has been hard(er) to find over the past few years. I think Dave Berg mentioned in another thread that they don't get the orders from either the wholesalers/retailers to justify them making more hefe. Hopefully Dave can answer your question more concretely.
Well, I say a lot of things...some true, some not so much. But I think this is what you were referring to...
It never makes it up to northern MN....I've requested it at various stores for years....start requesting it in May usually....never makes it....luckily my brother grabbed me 2 cases from Top 10 in Woodbury for $24 a case....not much more than a macro really...this beer is one I have been touting for years....full of flavor but quenching and low ABV allows one to drink more than a few at a tine,, .
Booze Mart in WSP had 12-packs earlier but ran out. They still have it in sixer. Honestly, my favorite local beer of the summer in 2012.
My wife's home town is awesome! All this Schell talk is making me want to ask Dave for a brewery tour.
I stopped into Zipps a week after that first post. Still no Schell's hefe. I'll drink Lake Superior's if I can't get the Schell's, but my wife prefers the Schell's. Very frustrating.
Found a couple of cases in the far south Metro --un-refrigerated-- and bought a 12. Thankfully, this place is cool and dry...
