Last year bottles sold out in late afternoon (~6 hours of sales). Yes 12:30 is fine. Bring comfortable shoes.

Also this is the first time coming down to Half-Acre, though I am familiar with the area. Is it a park on the street situation?

Should be fine, but I wouldn't guarantee it.

They'll have it flowing in the taproom well into the night and probably enough draft to fill growlers until they close shop. Might be able to get it on Saturday too. Bombers though, I have no idea. The last few releases have been ridiculous compared with past bottle drops. The Chicago beer scene has truly gone mad...

If you dont get a bomber, worry not. They're overpriced anyway compared to when it was canned. Get a growler or two for a much better deal.

What dead horse? That the bottles are higher price per oz than the cans? They are. That growlers are a better deal by far? They are. I'm not sure what the problem is. The bottles are only a better alternative if you want to store it for a long time (which you would be stupid to do) or want to ship it.

Hopefully with the second facility up and running soonish two things will happen.

    1. GDDC will be produced more regularly.
    2. GDDC will be canned again.

Until that happens, howlers and growlers are definitely the way to go, and are at a more reasonable price point.

On a related note, looking forward to another (more-likely-than-not) great IIPA from Rev coming out May 20 in six packs for $15-$16.

1ZENUFF, I hope the distribution is wide. Would love to get my hands on some without heading into the city.

Its also a better alternative to people that want to drink this beer 4 different times over the course of the next 4-6 weeks as opposed to just once like you would almost certrainly have to with a growler.

Came here for info, got what I was looking for, thanks for the insight! I'm hoping to get there by 12:30p, God willing. Supposed to be somewhere by 1:30p though, sounds like I could be eff'd in the A, figuratively speaking.

Yes, you're right. I looked it up after I posted my reply. I had that last week at a Revolution tap takeover in Palatine. For my money, I prefer double fist.

I wholeheartedly agree with Dontcounttoday. I much prefer the cans to the bombers for a limited beer like this. Much better to allow longer enjoyment of the release.

Had a sample last Friday night when I was at the tap room (Thank you to the couple I met who knew the owner), it was fantastic. Really great flavor, and only wish we could get it back here in Ohio.

Hey guys, sometimes a brewery makes a business decision to, like, make money and not just to appease every craft beer nerds' want and desire for a preferred format.
