FYI - Cans have hit Philly-area stores. I just grabbed a case in Chadds Ford, PA today.

I hope that is the case. I think a slight reduction in the GF flavor would make it better. It's a little too dominant. Maybe I should just stick to regular Sculpin. :stuck_out_tongue:

My thoughts exactly. I've got a lone can Thursday that I'll have tonight, and I'd love to taste just a bit less grapefruit to reduce the 'shandy IPA' vibe I get.

As most others, the price is the biggest ? for me. If they are the same price as I see the regular and grapefruit bottles I'll need to continue to pass regardless of how much I love the beer.

I thought I would be desperate to get a 6 pack of this but I still can't justify the price. Got a 6 pack of Boo Koo cans for $11 and that could honestly be my new go to 6 pack.

Don't even waste your time comparison shopping then, line priced with the rest of the sculpins. I too say, "good", but not worth the cost for an IPA that I easily will drink more than 4 or 5 of in an evening. I'll probably order it on draft though.

I enjoy this beer as something different. Agree it's a touch overpriced. Also agree that the grapefruit is a bit too forward.

Vons in San Diego is running a special on 6 pack Grapefruit Sculpin bottles: $9.99 through September 27th.

    I was shocked, too.

I love it. But, as with regular Sculpin, it is crazy overpriced. For the price, I can get a six pack of Deschutes Fresh Squeezed and still have enough left over for a bomber of Double Jack.

I had it for the first time last week, in a bottle, and I can honestly say that this is a fine brew! The grapefruit in mine seemed to be balanced with the hops perfectly. I even got the OK from my girlfriend, who loves grapefruit more than I do. Hope it hits DC with cans soon.

    OPA!

I haven't seen cans in NYC. Awesome beer, but a bit tough to see the $17 price tag for a sixer in NY.

Must be good to beer judges. They did the blind taste test of 116 single IPAs and GF sculpin ranked higher than regular.

I got to try a can last weekend. I preferred it to the bottles because the grapfruit seemed a bit more subdued than in bottles. Perhaps the hops faded more in the bottle, or maybe the can was fresher? Not sure, but I enjoyed it.
