I'm bummed that the Flying Cloud Stout seems to have skipped the Twin Cities - the stores that carry all their other beers just never got it. So, I guess I'm double bummed that it seems I won't be seeing this Double Liberty - the original Liberty is truly a favorite of mine.

I would suggest a call / email to your Anchor distributor to ask them if they are picking this up, and if not, why not?

I did that here, and was told by one of my local bottle shops, that "Anchor doesn't sell well", and that there are too many new beers coming out for them and their distributor, to keep track of....I gave him a little Anchor "history lesson" and their importance in the craft brewing world, and he said he would talk to the distro sales rep about this.....

It always amazes me that I have to "educate" beer store people about such things.....sad

I went back to anchor's website to double check their beer finder (http://www.anchorbrewing.com/connect/beer_finder). Turns out the Argonaut has been distributed to a few places around here now (when I checked a month ago it was nowhere to be seen). I'm pumped. I did send a message to Anchor a few weeks ago letting them know I couldn't find it but they never responded. I also told a local bottle shop I was looking for it and he actually told me Anchor had been selling well lately and he would let me know if he got it.

Glad you may be able to pick this up......sad that the brewery did not respond to you.....I emailed them earlier this year also, (different topic) and they did not get back to me either. Their customer service / marketing folks need to step it up a bit and respond back to the folks that....gasp....buy their product!! (or want to)

After picking up the Flying Cloud Stout on Saturday from a more distant store I noticed online today that my usual shops finally had it in stock (go figure). Seems like maybe the Argonaut has been slow in getting wide distribution - maybe just a production issue? Hopefully the same thing doesn't happen with the Double Liberty.

The Argonaut seems to me like a great series that craft enthusiasts can get excited about. I can't help but feel that big old Anchor doesn't get the love it deserves in today's trendy craft market. It seems to me they are good at almost everything they do and always manage to put a unique twist on it.

I agree that they could do better with customer service/marketing. I think it's so cool that someone from Sierra Nevada tracks these forums and always has interesting things to say about SN beers when they come up in discussions. The response from the forum goers is always really positive too. Being big doesn't preclude that passion and customer interaction that make the craft world so fun.

Based on this image looks like it will not be available unfortunately until June.

Liberty Ale without a doubt is one of my all-time favorites. A double IPA version may not be twice as good, but I will not hesitate for one millisecond to pick up a 6 pack (or three) the first time I see it. I'm sure it will be a great beer, however sometimes it's best not to mess with perfection.

Yeah....well, the release said "early summer", so June fits that bill! No surprise there....

Saw they had started bottling last week so was hoping for May possibly & a loose interpretation of "early summer"
