I haven't seen any of these for trade in some time so I'm trying to figure out what they are you going for now. Any information you have would be great.
We just drank one last Saturday. I wouldn't bother trading for it. Tasted like a watered down Barleywine. I dumped most of it.
Nice @mhenson42. I just really love those vintage C&C Dogfish Head beers. Hope to be able to enjoy one someday.
maybe I'm going crazy, can't read properly, or am lacking some knowledge around naming convention on old bottles of DFH - but if the picture posted was the one intended, perhaps you shouldn't be too grateful
To more directly point out: the beer in question is 120 minute and the beer in the picture is 90 minute.
At this point, most people who really want the block-head 120 are probably collectors. I would be interested in scoring a 120 minute from that era just to share with my tasting group. I've had a correctly cellared Raison d'Extra from that time frame and it was a pretty amazing experience.
Doh. My bad. I read 90 minute in the title. Not 120. So basically I have no idea on 120. I wouldn't age a 90 minute either, but my buddy @danferris has a ton of old beer and an insane vertical collection. Lol
It's not all the same type of beer, but I recently had a '03 World Wide that was super stellar. Then again, that style is more built for extended aging than whatever style 120 Minute is. (quadruple IPA?).
First post and a little off topic, but I have 2 Palo Santo that's about to be 5 years old. I really wonder if these will be worth drinking.
@JS70070 I just had one, Palo that is, from about 5 years ago side by side with a fresh one. Almost 2 completely different beers. I think it's well worth drinking. As for the 120, I'd be scared about the cellaring done by anyone I got it from. @cp45 See you that you closed a deal. Let !e know how that baby tastes
How about Festina Lente? Does that still exist? I saw some check-ins for a new batch in the last couple months so I thought it might be cool to have the old one. Anyone still have one?
I still have two bottles of 2008 Palo Santo, which I believe is the first batch. I haven't opened one since ~2011 and it was fantastic then.
Honestly, I dont see a point in trading for a beer like this. I do understand aging something and having some kind of sentimental attachment to it and wanting to try it. I doubt it would be worth whatever it takes to land it unless youre trying to fill a gap in a tasting or something.
