New to Ohio (2015)

I just picked up a 4 pack from Chateau Wine & Spirits on Polaris just off of I-71. They had about 5-6 4 packs left.

Check The Anderson's on Brice. They had about 3 cases on Saturday still. Had them on the floor near the front of the beer section. Maybe call first though.

 

That would definitely be a good spot to check. I got mine from them on Wednesday of last week when they first got them. What @ryhayes said they have left is not insanely far off from what they initially received. If they are moving at that pace, you should get lucky.

Trying to raise the ABV limit again with House Bill 68. You would think with the number of Ohio breweries now operating and the economic impact they would take this more seriously. Especially when only one bordering state has any kind if limit. Third time's a charm maybe.

They just released it at the brewery on Friday so my guess is that it won't hit shelves until next week.

 

Cool idea. Rhinegeist to have online ballot voting for what type of beer to make for the All Star Game. For tradition reasons I think it needs to be a lager.

I was just at their brewpub last week and had a glass of it. It was more tart than I was expecting, but it was pleasant. Hands down, it's the best sour I've had from an Ohio brewery, though that's a very vacuous statement.

 

Have you had any of Rivertown's stuff (excluding Soulless and Divergent)? I really like their Sour Cherry Porter and their Gueuze.

 

Jackie O's sours are the best in Ohio. This is not up for debate.

And yessir...I agree with you. Jackie O's sours = best in Ohio, not even close.

 

Best Sours and best barrel aged beers. Fatheads owns the hop crown

 

I've never tried either, but I'll try to get ahold of some.
I wish Jackie O's bottled more. As is the case with Fat Heads, it sounds like they make lots of good stuff, but only bottle a fraction of it.

 

Where those on tap at the brewery? haven't seen those in bottles. Had their lambic (unblended) a while back, not for me...

 

Sour Cherry Porter and Gueuze are bottled and distributed. I think the Gueuze is in the fall and the Porter in in the winter.

On a related note...I think Rivertown Divergent is fantastic stuff...still need to try the Soulless

 

6-pack slightly above average sour for 8.99? Yes please. Love Divergent for what it is. Soulless I was not a fan of.
