I'd be a bad neighbor if I did not share this with the group but Kendal beat me to it.

I wasn't there......but I can tell you why I 'think' it won. You see it on the menu. Mind Funk. Hmmm, that sounds interesting. You might see it's description. What the heck, I'll order it. You see it arrive. Hmmm, is this what I ordered? Yes. Now the eyes narrow a bit and your spidey senses are tingling. You examine it closely. You smell it. A lot. Then you drink it. Mind Funk.

I'll leave the sordid details out for you to experience on your own but for me, this is a classic example of having some expectations and preconceived notions prior to first sip and then.........wow

Kind of like the first time I ordered a Monk's Indiscretion (another shout out to Kitsap County). I can tell you that I never ever had that before and probably will never have it again anywhere else. No matter what it says on the label.

So.........going off topic, because this the Pac NW forum, who here walked into a beer with an idea in your head and walked out with another beer?

p.s. Rainy Daze Hypocrite Double IPA is on tap at Pint Defiance. Another solid beer.

    no, no, no....

I was typing quick to get on a call. I love Monk's. What I was trying to articulate (poorly) was that before I drank it, I had this preconceived notion of what it was supposed to taste like. Then I drank it. I liked it. I liked it better because it did not taste like anything else I ever had before. And I have not tasted anything like it since.

I suck at the Englishes sometimes.

    Haha

Yeah, it's not your typical Belgian style beer. A lot of people mistakenly call it a Tripel. All I know is that it's damn delicious. My favorite Sound beer.
