What are some beers that you think do not get the credit they deserve?

Beers that you think were brewed with expertise, at the best ability of the brewer and yet others consider it a complete fail.

Habanero Sculpin comes to mind. While not amazing, it was pretty solid for what it was.

    Here is my review:

If you dislike heat, then you will dislike this beer. However, if you have an open mind and you are familiar with the habanero as an ingredient, then you will know that Ballast Point completely nailed it here.

In the chile beer category, you will not find another habanero beer as good as this one. The head brewer expertly combined habanero with Sculpin.

After each sip, you get an even, but bearable heat throughout your mouth. A minute passes, and the heat disappears until the next sip.

The aroma is amazing. You get a blast of habanero carried by the head, which smells tropical and fruity. The taste is on par with the aroma, but due to decreased drinkability, I rated taste a quarter point lower.

Not too many people are familiar with habaneros and that is a shame. They are my favorite chile and extremely unique in flavor. I use them in place of jalapenos and serranos whenever I can.

Interesting twist...for me it used to be Miller Hi-Life 7 oz bottles, loved those things ice cold on a hot day...other than that, I like most of the stuff that everyone else likes

I love pepper beers and some people seem to hate them so Habanero Sculpin was also going to be mine. Founders Imperial Stout has also been taking a beating on here lately but it's my favorite imperial stout.

FIS takes a beating on here? I pretty much only see (well-deserved) praise

Honestly can't think of a beer that's truly hated on here, that I love. Plenty of under-appreciated beers, but that can apply to whole styles/countries.

I love Michelob Original Lager. Seriously. I always have. I had a couple while brewing a imperial black ipa today. It's just a good beer. Screw the haters.

FIS is one of my favorite beers, period.

But to address this post, something I love that everyone hates (at least my non-beer loving friends and family): The Bitterest DIPAs

It's not a great way to break ppl into the beer world...

Love ballast Point's Indra Kunindra, as well as their Pale Ale (which is, in fact, a kolsch, which perhaps explains some of the disenchantment). Really like Victory Helles lager too. I don't know that any of these are totally hated brews, but I rate them much higher than their averages.

Lagers. In the barrel-aged and sour-obsessed hip beer world, I see far too many so-called beer lovers turning their noses up at pilsners, maibocks, marzens and on and on. If you can't appreciate these beers, to paraphrase Dave Chapelle, "Ain't nothing wrong with lagers, there's something wrong with you!"

I love a good Red Stripe on a hot summer day. The BA score suggests that I am in minority.

Was just the most common post I saw in that other thread that wasn't about Sculpin.

Mango Magnifico. People had some outright hatred of that beer and I loved it.

I remember it being a chore to drink, even for a sipper. Very boozy and "ashy" in flavor... Almost like year old soot in a fireplace ashy.

I absolutely loved Stone Belgo Anise. I get why people hated it but I thought it was pure bliss.

    Go Cav's!
