Hey guys, anyone seen this in Dallas? Girlfriend is doubling as my beer mule this weekend and I am eager to try this. Thanks for any info!
There was limited availability about a year ago; pretty sure it's all gone. Not sure about XXIV for this year.
Probably should have looked harder before posting this thread, but I found some more info for those of you interested as well. Looks like we will see it in about 2 weeks or so (hopefully!) http://beeradvocate.com/community/t...he-dissident-jubelale-more.28665/#post-354821 Black Butte XXIV WHEN: Available end of July WHAT: Reserve Series (22-ounce wax-dipped bottles and draft) Every June, Deschutes Brewery fans look forward to an anniversary celebration brew that is an annual exercise in experimentation. Our brewers tinker with the recipe by throwing in some crazy ingredients (this year it’s dates and figs to replace last year’s orange and chilies) in order to meaningfully commemorate the brewery’s birthday. Black Butte XXIV, an imperial porter which doubles up the brewery’s signature Black Butte Porter recipe, is bourbon barrel aged with some wild ingredient additions to ensure that this anniversary brew stands alone. Like all of our Reserve Series beers, we encourage you to drink one upon its release and put some away for later. Some things just get better with age! First chance to try this beer will be on draft in our pubs on July 25th, bottles will be available soon after! WHERE: Limited availability in all 19 states where Deschutes is sold What You Need to Know: ~11% Alcohol by Volume (ABV)
Your best bet is to troll the "gots" lists of the Dallas BAs. Once you have a few targets in mind, follow the Southwest forum and wait for a post from one of them that suggests they have had more than a few beers. At that point put your best home invasion/robbery plan into action. Kevlar might also be a good idea!! Let us know how it works out.....
What ever you do don't check w/ the only Corpus Christi BA. He's a jerk who sits on a throne of BBXXIII cases.
Can only hope there's an advertised release at one of the gastro pubs downtown. Otherwise the only reliable option for me is eBay.
