Jackie O's (2018)

Oro Negro was awesome this time around. More in line with the September release version. I loved the extreme heat one last time, but this current version is just phenomenal. My definite favorite for the weekend. I was also floored by the Mandala Citrmosa and Thin Mint. I really don't know how these guys do it. We spent more time at the Taproom this time than we ever had before. I developed a huge appreciation for that location. Both bartenders are awesome, but the guy there takes the cake. He's hilarious and always makes hanging out a great time. Getting a surprise bottle of BB Black Maple didn't hurt either. So cool to finally meeting some of you awesome BAs. @RyanMcFly1985 @TDavis @Rydro17 @BigSpeen3436 @brewtus@masterofsparks . I feel like I'm missing one or two. Shout out if so. I can't wait until the next release!

 

Super 8 guy dug up my home phone number online when I hadn't showed up by 9pm and proceeded to call about 3 times to see if I was still coming, despite it being too late to cancel the room, so that he could give it to someone else and make more money.

Also, left me no extra pillows.

Will be back next time for sure.

Seconded on that dude at the taproom. I should have asked his name by now, but I will next time. I've been there three times since mid January and he's been SUPER nice every time. Great guy.

 

Did you fine patrons wipe out all of the to-go bottles?

 

Need some help. Going to be in Athens tomorrow. Want to stop by and pick up some bottles to bring home. Where do I go? The taproom? Looks like it is on Campbell St. whereas the brewery is right by the university? Anybody who can help, I appreciate it. Going with my wife and daughter who will have little patience for my interest!

 

You've got it. Taproom would have the to go bottles. I believe you can stop in any time after noon. You should be able to land some BB Oil, Wood Ya Honey, Wood Burner, and BB Dark App I believe.

Great release as always. This was my favorite tap list of any I've been to.

The new recipe of Le Git Saison and Cellar Cuvee 9 were my favs. Almond BBDA was great too. I really enjoyed Radatatat as well for a refreshing change of pace. The guys really out did themselves on this one. The Wood Ya Honey is tasting nice and how about them labels!!!

Kept me cool all game and my wife was the one losing her shit. However, when LeBron hit that shot, I screamed "WOOOOOO" so loud that my two little girls cried for a solid four minutes. They'll survive.

 

Hahaha dude my wife loves to take video of me when I lose my shit during sporting events...and then post them on Instagram/Facebook. I am not the biggest fan of this as my reactions are usually pretty irrational. I had a feeling I was going to be in rare form yesterday, so I purposely watched the game in just a t-shirt and boxers (as I knew she would not post that on social media). It turned out to be a great move because my reaction to Lebron's shot is not something I would ever want anyone to see. My wife told me that I made a sound that she had never heard from me before. In fact, my wife and I were not together when the Cavs were last in the playoffs. She's used to all my Browns/Tribe bullshit, but had never seen anything like this. Thankfully, she's still around today...for now.

 

As a friend of @RyanMcFly1985 and his wife, I can confirm these reactions are hilarious. I am disappointed that she let your attire prevent her from filming said reaction.

 

Hahaha gotta save my professional reputation somehow. Can't have underwear videos on the internet!

 

I asked ab barrel aging it. Clark said not in barrels YET but they made a ton more this go around so hopefully one of these things happens. Oro is so dialed in, such an amazing beer.

 

Had some Wood Ya Honey at the taproom Monday. It's one of the best beers I've ever had. Just fantastic.

 

Did they have any of this or their other barrel aged stuff for carryout? I'm worried I'm going to drive down Saturday night and drive away like Charlie Brown kicking dirt.
