I'll post the trades in the appropriate forum (will be mostly dfw ip)...but I need to reiterate that Julius is the best beer up there and Haze is probably a close second right now. These are top of the world-world class. Everything about Tree House was awesome.
If you can get these...do it.
HT is reasonably close and Focal is a few notches below imo.
I've got a couple of bottles of flora plum left...haven't tried yet.
I brought some prairie stuff and YR to initially trade in philly and then the wheels came off the further north I went. Flipped a case of HT for some stuff from a guy in NJ at one point.

Side note that blind pig is not better than pliny as I had frequently heard. have had pliny several times, but got that and blind pig on tap (philly) and it wasn't really close for me. pliny was tasting better than HT to me at this point of the trip.
The selection/distribution that these guys have access to is absurd.

Anyways...ended up with some stuff that some of you guys might want. any of the non-vets/advocates at least.
Don't ask how...but most of this came back with me in 3.5 suitcases. ~13 bombers/750s are in transit via some good dudes I met along the way. i've not had several of these, so they obv all won't go on the trading block. and the iso will be wide open.

Why not just bring back beers that you want to actually drink yourself and not immediately try to trade them away?

    lol. That's not the idea.
I want other guys to have a chance to try some of these within a reasonable time frame...had plenty of these. Share the wealth.
    ...the hoppy ones at least.
Would only consider a couple of those to trade I haven't had.
Only got them bec I had freshly canned stuff to trade and was willing.
Trying to be helpful here...there's nothing I can think to seek to trade for after this mother.

Interesting to hear others(somewhere) said BP is better than Pliny. Even though I think Pliny is a little overrated, I enjoy bringing some back when I make it out there, and recently got some in a RR trade... Blind Pig was a one and done for me though.

    Nice haul

    Nice catch.
But the other catch is you got to feed the local sheep.
    Julius...was growler only.
Those company's all do it up where they have can releases of whatever they feel like on whatever day they feel like and then random dudes just show up at the brewery and get their limits. Rinse and repeat.

Having done fresh Pliny and Blind Pig side by side a few times now and I prefer Blind Pig. Only had bottles though not draft.

And I agree that Julius is a masterpiece. I've had a few growlers of it now and not many IPA's can touch how easy to drink and juicy it is.

To each their own, great thing about IPAs is there is a great variety for everyone. I prefer mine on the piney side of things, so I take Pliny 10 times out of 10 times over the juicy stuff. I do like the more citrusy notes on occasion though, don't get me wrong, and I definitely wouldn't refuse any of the IPAs many of you have listed.

    Now on to this.

I have nothing against someone bringing back a few bottles to trade, but when you get called on it, own it. If you were bringing them back to share the wealth you would post them in beer it forward or something like that. Not looking for a trade. I'm sure I'll see some ISO: JK Sours and Vanilla Rye at some point.

If the trades are pretty reasonable or even just $4$, then isn't that sharing the wealth? He went through a lot of trouble to schlep up there and bring a pretty absurd amount of stuff back. Sure, bringing this stuff to bottle shares would be a better way to truly "share the wealth" if that's the phrase you guys have so much trouble with, but if I were in DFW, I would be pretty damn happy to IP trade whatever or pay $ to try some things I'll probably never really have the chance to try otherwise. I guess it completely depends on what he's asking for. I wouldn't expect anybody to just give this stuff away.

This is the reason you don't post threads like this outside of the trade forums. This conversation and plenty of butthurt one way or the other will always ensue. Not to say anyone here has done that so far, but eventually it will happen. With a list like that I don't think you need any advertising in other forums, you'll get plenty of action. Try Facebook too if you can stomach it.

I have just never understood buying as much beer as you can just to bring it back to set up trades. I would understand if you had some friends that wanted some beers so you grab them, or you buy some to give to friends/take to bottle shares. Just never understood being in a region with great beer and filling up bags with beer that you don't plan to keep.

Because you can't trade beers that you intend to drink.

Have you been up there? You don't think that a bottle/can share is the first thing I think of? I owe someone up at the Moth a beer, only because my wife said we would bring them something back.
I can understand you taking this condescendingly or whatever...but that wasn't the intention. This was a work trip-that I turned into a once/twice in a life time opp. My wife will never let me make a haul like that again.
Truth is, i've only got maybe one other couple that is in to this enough to appreciate any of this. And they are fringe...my wife is really the only one. It helps to have buddies that appreciate this hobby, but I've got more important things to figure out in life than trying to make beer buddies at this point.

So I know DFW is decidedly limited in what you can get and/or trade, so I'm willing to help a couple guys out.

I was up in Vermont/Maine/Mass beer trip last summer.

If it was once in a lifetime (or so), I definitely would have stocked up more so for my own cellar.

It just came off as you were bragging about what you got and were immediately looking for some trades for those bottles you got. If it is about sharing the beer, just take some of the cans to random bars that you frequent and share it with bartenders. Or just post on here that you want to host a bottle share with some stuff you brought back and I am sure you would have a group interested in it.

I think I get what you mean, but it's pretty simple to understand what he's doing. You bring back beer most people can't normally get so you can get beer you can't normally get.

It's like asking why a dairy farmer would barter milk for eggs instead of just drinking the milk. I don't really get into the "beer as currency" thing either, but I understand it. It's the pokemon generation, dude. Gotta catch em all.

Wow the holier than thou attitude here is incredible...

It's the OP's choice to do whatever he wants with the beers he brought back ranging from trading for whalez, sharing with strangers or pouring them all down the drain. Not sure why this post has the cynics all over it.
