I'm simultaneously shocked and unsurprised that it took almost 50 posts for Double DBA to get a mention. Such an underrated beer for the style, it seems like.

It's interesting, because the barrel-aged barleywines (specifically BCBBW) are what first got me into revisiting barleywines in general, as I thought I didn't like them for the longest time, which I blame on Bigfoot. But now it's probably my favorite non-sour barrel-aged style, period.

My favorite is Bourbon County, but the gap between it and all other good ones I've had is pretty small:

    ADWTD
    Sucaba
    Mirror Mirror
    Double DBA
    London Balling
    Saturn
    Rye Barrel Old Numbskull

I still need to open my bottles of Cockeyed Cooper and Arctic Devil.

And if you want to stretch the limits of the barleywine style a bit, there are a couple of fantastic barrel-aged "ryewines": Rye-on-Rye and Rye Day the 13th

I have not tried a whole lot of them but for a readily available beer The Bruery Mash is quite good not a A+ beer but a good solid A beer all day and rather easy to find in California anyway.

My personal fav that's still made is Sucaba, followed not too far behind by BCBBW. King Henry might be the best beer I've ever had, so I give it the edge in this contest.
