Agreed! That BA Kiln with 6 different nuts was my favorite pour of the weekend. Had it up against the Oro Negro, which is a fantastic beer on its own, and the Kiln Nuts just couldn't be beat.

King Henry (yeah, I know...), Bligh's, MOAS, Abacus/Sucaba, Central Waters.

It doesn't really count anymore, but Royal Oil takes the cake for all-time greats.

Royal Oil is on my fantasy list. for the past year i hear a batch is aging, is this true? or is it gone for good?

Tough to say. There is some left from the original batch, but it won't be for sale. My guess is that it might be entered in GABF/WBC as an aged beer someday. I've heard they either did or will brew it again, but details are sparse. Sometimes they'll sneak beers out, so you never know...

King Henry when fresh was incredible. Mother of All Storms is fabulous. Sucaba is outstanding. BCBBW is at the top of the second tier. Central Waters BW, Upland Barrel Chested, Bell's Saturn are decent in their own right, but do not belong in the team picture of KH, MoAS, Sucaba and BCBBW.

I would love to see this released again! In 12 oz. format would be sweet.
I also wish SN would do a wider release of BBA Bigfoot, in 12 oz.

King Henry prolly got the late mention because the hype has waned as has its availability - there will come a day when it will only be a fond memory, eh? :slight_frown:
Bolt Cutter was very good, but I don't know how much love it ever really got here.
I dig the Bourbon County Barleywine and Sucaba, of course - it's kinda hard not to  but I really dug the Central Waters Reserve barleywine I had for the first time recently. I thought Hand & Seal is as good as the best, and for my tastes, I liked it better than Sucaba and the Bourbon County barleywine :grimacing:. I am also a real fan of Arctic Devil... :sunglasses:

If they were all in front of me right now, and equally priced, and I had to rank 'em based on which one I want to drink the most (may not necessarily be the "best" - just the one I personally crave the most), it'd go like this:
    1. Hand & Seal - 'cuz it's that good
    2. Artic Devil - 'cuz it's that addictive
    3. Central Waters - 'cuz it's recent in my memory and I loved it
    4. King Henry - 'cuz it's the standard to which they're all compared
    5. BCBBW - 'cuz it's the King's little cousin
    6. Bolt Cutter - 'cuz it's been so long that I'm curious to see how it compares
    7. Sucaba - 'cuz it's actually my least favorite of the ones I mentioned
