Option 2 is the best. You can't go wrong with any of those, but you can't beat Oregon/Washington/California for must-hit beer joints.

I've done the Cali-Oregon-Washington trip a few times and it's always been stellar. Might I recommend a FL trip? Face it you're going to have to come here eventually for the mouse, our beaches, or maybe grandma lives here in her golden years. We attract all kinds. Start in the panhandle with Proof Brewing. Head down 75 to Swamphead and follow it up with a myriad of award winning breweries in Tampa/St.Pete. Down the gulf coast through Bradenton/Sarasota/Ft.Myers for lots of young upstarts. Over to Miami/Ft. Lauderdale for a beer scene that's starting to rival Tampa/St.Pete, then north on 95 through another group of young upstarts all up the Atlantic coast and finish in Jax with another solid brewery and beer bar line-up. It's all like a perfect little package where you can buy a pair of mouse ears, get sand in your britches and say your final goodbyes to Grammy all in one beer centric vacation. And as of yesterday 64 oz growlers are illegal! Enjoy!

Other activities among the trip are yet to be determined, but there will be some. Those involved like to party, but are not much into strippers, so those will probably be avoided. Most everything else is fair game.

Alternatively, are there other routes you guys would recommend that you could do in a week? Florida would be a good option

after reexamining the original route 2, that would be a lot to try and take on in a week.

In general though we are just looking to travel, drink some good beer, have some fun at night, a real road trip with a beer and bachelor party twist

I'm biased. Go to Chicago! Revolution, Half Acre, Goose Island, Pipeworks, Spiteful, Finch's, Metropolitan, to name a few, plus you're a hop, skip, and a jump away from 3 Floyd's!

After Chicago, head up to Wisconsin. The Wisconsinites no how to brew great beer, and on top of that, the best cheese!

When you go to the fishing boats they have a set up so you can get your photo taken with various fish. That way you don't need to waste time actually fishing

Oh, and while you're in the Midwest, swing into Iowa and visit Toppling Goliath. So there it is. Chicago, Wisconsin (New Glarus, to be exact), and Decorah, Iowa. Have fun!

Option 2, but be forewarned that you have a lot of driving ahead of you to go from Seattle or Portland all the way down to SD. Coming from Oregon I suggest coming the coastal route, much more breweries in Cali on the coast.

Don't know too much and where places are at in Oregon but once you get Cali side hit North Coast, Anderson Valley, Bear Republic, then Russian River, Lagunitas, Sierra Nevada Torpedo Room (if you have a DD all these could possibly be hit in one day), then if it's the weekend hit The Rare Barrel. Seriously though you could just hit Russian River and stay there from open to close easy, so much good beer and food.

Then do a lot of driving on the 101 to Paso Roble and hit Firestone Walker, and there are a few other smaller places in the area that would be nice to go to. You can opt and take the slower more scenic route and take the 1 instead if you have time to kill.

Then take the 101 to Buelton and hit Firestone Walker's Barrelworks location (insanely cool there). After that continue on the 101 until you hit LA so to say. There's a ton of breweries now but if you want to hit big ones I would say go to Placentia and hit The Bruery. From there I would just say keep heading down towards SD and hit Oceanside Aleworks, Port/Lost Abbey, and you gotta hit Stone World Bistro and Gardens in Escondido, awesome place. Then keep heading south and now you're in SD. Now you tear SD up and hit Modern Times, Alesmith, Green Flash, Alpine, Ballast Point, Societe, and Coronado. There's still a ton of other great breweries in SD that you can hit as well, on top of awesome places to eat that have insane tap lists as well and I recommend you hit some of those places.

You're Cali side of the trip is planned now

New England for me - Connecticut for New England Brewing, Massachusetts for Tree House and Trillium, Vermont for The Alchemist, Hill Farmstead, and Lawson's Finest, and then Maine for Maine Beer Co.

I second adding Vermont. had no problem getting world class beer there and it's better while the weather's warm. but really, each option offers something different...you'd be well off either way

Option 2 but make it California or PNW. There's an epic amount of driving involved if you do the whole thing.

Yeah, 7 days is nowhere near enough time to drive Seattle-Sandy Ego if you're stopping to hit a bunch of breweries. For example: You could leave Seattle, hit up a bunch of breweries, and only make it as far as Olympia. When you leave Olympia, you could hit up breweries all day, and just barely make it to PDX that night. Heading out to Hood River, or out to Astoria/Tillamook chews up another day. Once you get out of Eugene, headed south, there's not a to until you get to Cali, but you want to hit Caldera, Mt. Shasta Brewing, and swing over to Chico. From there, over to the NorCal coastal breweries.

You still haven't gotten to Frisco.

Man, maybe it was too many beers last night or just senility setting in but I could swear that OP's was from Missouri. Now I see it says Colorado and my "stay closer to home" comment makes less sense. I'll blame senility. :astonished:

10 years ago I would have recommended Europe. Now beer nirvana is here. You could probably spend a week in the Pacific Northwest, California, the New England, the Mid Atlantic States, the Southeast, Florida, the Midwest or Colorado for that matter and not come even close to drinking all the good beer available.
