For the past couple of years Otter Creek and Wolavers were meh and I usually skipped over those beers until I was working in a beer distributor last summer. Their wholesaler in the Philly area, Muller, had way too much overgrown cans left and we were selling them for 18.99 a case. I bought it and loved it. I've had the kind ryed, citra mantra and most recently the backseat berner and fresh slice.

It tastes like they went from an ordinary brewery to one that is just pumping out these really good year round beers. Thoughts?

All the beers they've named have been great. Honestly thoigh I've only started drinking them recently. But I have no complaints with anything of theirs I've tried

I honestly love everything that they've made recently. I just wish that I was able to find Backseat Berner more easily around my area.

I was able to find backseat berner dated april 25 in central pa, which is pretty good considering central pa sucks compared to philly.

Surprisingly, many of the stores in CNY, including Wegmans and some smaller bottle shops have been slow to pick up on much of what Otter Creek puts out. I've only been able to get their "good" stuff at places over an hour away from me.

You nailed some of the best ones. Kind Ryed is excellent; Citra Mantra is quite good; Backseat Berner is delicious; and of course Double Dose (while a seasonal collab) is fantastic.

Whatever Otter Creek did to reinvent themselves, they hit it out of the park.

That's horrible, I hate it when I see a special release from a brewery and I have to travel through the City for it. I guess their product doesn't sell as much as other brands.

I watched a pallet of discounted kind ryed cases sell in a weekend. Their new stuff is great.

I've been into Otter Creek going back almost as long as I've been drinking.
They had some great beers, Copper Ale, Stovepipe Porter, that eventually fell by the wayside, as other breweries passed by with the latest and greatest, and Otter Creek really didn't do anything new for a long time. A few years ago they really kicked up their game - did they get a new brewer? Management? Ownership? - and everything they've done lately has been great, though it's basically all IPA varients, with the exception if a limited RIS.
I do with they would bring back some other styles, like the Ale and Porter, though I guess they're doing pretty well as it is.

They have a new brewer, the guy who is on a majority of the labels, seems like a pretty cool dude and obviously great brewer.

I thought their Russian Imperial Stout was phenomenal. Underrated beer for sure.

Wonder how many here know.....that Long Trail bought Otter Creek, and both (and Shed and Wolavers organic lines) are owned by private equity firm Fulham & Co?
