    Package arrived safely yesterday!!

Original Trade was was to receive - 6 of Zombie Dust, Permanent Funeral, Blot out the Sun

    Changed Trade
to - 6 of Alpha King, SS Middle Finger, Blot out the Sun

    **Trade Button Pushed**
I receive this in a message 1 week after I had heard from him last.
"......went out last nite to get Alpha King and Space ...but the store was out......I was like really??????"

After receiving this in part of the message I assumed I'd get the Blot but after that I had no idea.

Received in Box - 6 of Zombie Dust, SS Middle Finger, Blot out the sun. Couple extras including some Founders and Dark Horse BA Plead the 5th.

Happy I got the Zombie, because that was originally what I wanted. He was dealing with some personal issues and said he was sorry and tried to make it right with the extras. He was late with shipping and disappeared for a bit, but did come though and send. I'm thinking either positive feedback explaining he was slow to ship, but came though or neutral feedback saying he was slow to ship but came though. I just hate to be the person that ruins 100% after 40+ trades.

It's obviously your call but ruining his 100% after 40 should not be your concern. Accurately letting other traders know what they're getting into should be. The system is there for the benefit of other traders, not as participation awards for the person you traded with. Who's to say 20 of those trades didn't have similar hiccups that people just didn't feel were worth mentioning so as not to ruin this person's streak.

Personally, I look for 3 things in a trade: 1) good communication; 2) follow through (do they do what they say); and 3) promopt shipping.

This person missed on all 3. To me, that's negative with some notes.

I agree with @Kurmaraja, its not your fault he slipped up, but I think neutral is fair here with all things considered.

Neutral seems like a good compromise. I don't think neutral will ruin his rep and he should understand why you gave him that rating. If I did what he did I wouldn't blame you in the slightest bit for giving me neutral because I deserved it. IMOF, I would be grateful you didn't give me negative. There would be no hard feelings, that's what the system is there for.

@funke910 serious question. What kind of feedback would you leave if the number of trades your trade partner had wasn't made for public viewing? (Using your instance as an example). Or for that matter, only had a couple trades logged in the books? I'm just curious because you mentioned leaving positive feedback.

It's your feedback to leave, but the number of trades someone has shouldn't influence your "personal" trade at hand (IMO).

Very, very reluctantly I have to say that I think he clearly deserves a negative. I can't get past the ongoing deceit. Gimme excuses, rationalizations, exaggerations, I'll grit my teeth & work through them, but dammit I can't stand LYING. Nor an I onboard with this crap of making substitutions without getting your consent, though it seems you wound up with two of the three you agreed to, including your biggest want.

Note too, that if you leave him negative fb you haven' tainted the fb. His own bad behavior is solely responsible.

    Quick question...Bottling dates?

I'd imagine the worst thing that will happen is most people will ask them to ship first from now on. Not a huge deal.

A trade should not require any work on your part after you ship the box. It seemed like you needed to hunt him down, deal with changes in bottles, and a really delayed shipment.

He got most of the bottles back to the original in the end. But, that still does not change all the crap that happened that you had to deal with. Communication is key - if I send a box out and the receiving party lets me know it will be a bit before I get it back, I am good with that. Most of the times, they let you know before hand, and I am still good. If there are any issues, I have no problem waiting - hell, I had one guy take 2 months to send a box back, but he was in communication weekly and I was perfectly fine (granted, it was my second trade with him, and told him that I was in absolutely no hurry so ship whenever).

For a trade with those bottles, he should have them before he agrees to ship. Simple as that. I have never put up a trade or agreed for a trade with bottles that I did not have or was not 100% sure I was getting.

If you are going to leave neutral, explain everything. Personally, I would leave negative. If you have to post about it on this board, it likely already is at the negative point.

Just a general feedback question, but is there a way to expand on the amount of feedback you're allowed to leave? I see a lot of comments along the lines that OP should leave negative/neutral but explain everything, but that is awfully hard to do in 140 characters or whatever we're allowed. Sometimes I have a hard time just giving the person all the kudos I want to, let alone trying to explain some long, convoluted chain of events.

@NJR19056 Please review my post history. I very, very rarely recommend negative fb, our even neutral fb. I'm usually very much inclined to give people the benefit of the doubt. My statement was meant globally & I very much dislike thinking that negative fb is deserved in this matter (which assumes the OPs info is accurate & complete). For that matter, it's ultimately for the OP to decide.

Though she is not a mod, i believe @JavaNoire is an asset to this community, she is always here to help and give advice. You came in here to critique her, not to help out in this situation…. But anyway.
Seems like the OP got his beer, and as @JavaNoire has said its up to the OP to leave what fb he decides is correct for the situation. Im going to lock this up, OP if you want to let up know what type of feedback you left please contact a mod and we will open this back up or add the info.
