So I just moved to Jersey city but I'm one block from Hoboken. Can anyone tell me the best bars and stores in this area. Preferably bars with plenty of craft on draft, and stores that do growler fills. Also, are there any good stores in Bergen county that do growler fills?
Some of my favorite bars in the area: Cork City Pub, Barcade, Pilsener Haus Biergarten, Porta (just to name a few) Bottle shops: Sparrow Wine(both locations) , Hoboken Vine, Jersey City Super Buy Rite, and Cool Vinez in JC is a decent little shop Also, you're right outside of NYC which has a myriad of options for craft beer Not sure of too many growler fill spots in the area. I know that Buy Rite in fairview does fills but I personally am not a big fan of that place
EnthusedAboutBeer pretty much nailed it... I actually like the vibe at Northern Soul as well, if you feel like checking out a niche little spot. And despite any criticism that may surround HopsScotch, they do carry decent selection of non-American brews: Alvinne, Del Ducato, De Cam, BFM (Bon Chien makes the tap rotation every now and then), LoverBeer, Glazen Toren, etc...
Never been to Northern Soul...gotta check that out soon. HopsScotch is definitely a good craft beer bar, they just have some pretty high prices. Aside from that I don't really have anything bad to say about the place
Taphaus just opened on the waterfront in JC. Pretty good list and happy hour is $5 for any draft. Firestone Double Jack is on that list.
Agreed, and glad you gave CoolVines a shout-out as well: love this little store. Rumor is potential growler station when they move across the street. Although, with licensing and restrictions that one has to go through to implement a growler station...Well, I guess we will have to wait and see
That would be very cool. For such a small place I was impressed with their selection. If they do end up acquiring more space I could see it being an awesome shop
Hey guys. I'm the manager of CoolVines JC and fellow beer nerd. I'm always down to geek out over beer and usually putting together local shares. Drop by any time and say what's up. Ask for Matt.
