Apparently, too many people are complaining about their sour bottle prices. ($33/bottle) Personally, I don't see a problem, but some one at Pizza Boy got offended. These are their responses.

What's the price point? Doesn't seem to be too intuitive as I navigate their website?

The point of complaint is that $30 for a big bottle that you can only drink on premise is frustrating when you are coming in from out of town and want to acquire or taste one of their barrel aged sours. I bought a growler of their Lil Amps stout and took home to share with 5 other guys that night instead for around $15. Was a perfect stout. Also bought a $12 Intangible Ales funky honey saison which I was allowed to take home which was great. Had to pass on the $30 drink on premise only option for the Pizzy Boy sours. Really wanted to try some but not at that pricepoint and option.

Are the Kleenex bits the type with lotion or without?

Other breweries have the same cost and somehow come in for less. A big brewery might be able to produce for less, but many small breweries sell them for less.

As for the post. Never a good idea to lecture your customers.

If a beer is too expensive, don't buy it, live within your means. I've had some seriously amazing Bruery beers, but don't find it prudent to plunk down what they are asking.

I tend to agree; I don't know anything about these guys but they're coming off with a sort of "if you can't afford it that isn't our problem" attitude I think, which is a little off-putting.

Whaaaat? This has nothing to do with an attitude from the brewers. The product cost is a reflection of the man hours and material costs. If you want a beer costing $15 in labor for $5, it's you who has an issue and an attitude. Hey I want a Lamborghini for 10K, oh wait, that's not happening? Oh, you guys over there at Lambo are a******s.

I remember a few other times where the owner from PB has posted similar things and called out customers, which is probably not the best idea, but they seem to be doing alright regardless.

He does have a point that it sucks for people to talk others out of purchasing bottles because their price point is not what they feel that it should be. At the end of the day the PB people have to price their products at a level that they are comfortable with and the market will bear it or not.

Better question might be if they're used Kleenex bits. Utilizing used ones may help keep the price down for the whining customers.

There was probably a nicer way to say that. Just sayin'.
Also, he forgot 'time spent explaining stuff to people ($$)'.

Maybe he needs some of his own Kleenexes? The same beautiful, free-market capitalist country that allows him to sell beers for $33 also guarantees all of us freedom of speech, which may or may not include persuasive attempts at "swaying" others. Welcome to the Interwebs.

$30 is on the high side, but honestly not that high. I can't think of many good sours I've had for less than $15. I don't mind the bluntness at all. The price is what the price is. Don't like the price, then don't drink it. I love Sculpin but its something I only drink once in awhile because I don't like the price point.
