Whew that was close my brother in law got me a 2nd one at TW. I also decided to be that guy and had my mom drive over and she got me one as well. So ended up with 3 plus a BA Blackbeerd.

Anything is possible. This will be a 'right set of eyes' scenario for sure. Throw in a sixer of WB Gose on your side and you could probably get a '15 Huna.

How much more MC will hit the brewery over the next month? Didn't someone mention there was more in the tank that was incoming?

 

I bet Southern Spirits does their Lottery next weekend sometime (June 29 or 30) with the announcement coming in the next couple days. That is if they follow what was done last year. I'm only in the area a few times a year when visiting family in the state but they used to announce actual releases with first come, first served but seem to be going with the lottery system on several releases this year. I suppose this process is a way to give equal shot to anyone showing up and also get more revenue from their taps while people wait.

 

I've swapped MC for Huna the past three years and it's always been at a 3:2 ratio (MC:Huna)

What is wild about that? MC costs less and hits distro in a few states.

that 3:2 is pretty close to $4$ and is enough bottles to make the shipping not overly terrible. Finding a 1:1 not only isn't even $4$ but also means that shipping will account for a large percentage of the deal on a single bottle swap.

 

Keep in mind that was when people left Huna Day with case(s)...not sure if that deal will happen this year with the way Huna bottles were 'event only' plus Catador.

FWIW, I also swapped MC for Backyard numerous times last year at 3:2 (clearly that deal wouldn't happen now) and 1:1 with CW Anniversary bottles.

 

Facebook groups have 2 MC+ for one Huna and still haven't closed. Huna is a tough catch this year.

I like to go with the benefit of the doubt approach - you're reading way too much into their actions

Also - "craft brewery (sic) is about the trading and the releases" - no it's not. In fact trading and releases, while fun when done right, are a major cause of the shittier side of craft

Was my grocery store during college. Tried to buy beer there as freshman numerous times. I still remember Charleston freaking out when we got Yuengling for the first time.

 

I traded MC+ for Huna last year. We both threw in locals to round out the box, but a little more on my end to even out the $4$.

 

I am not reading anything into their actions - I am responding to their comments about the criticism they received for the approach they took this year...yeah that's right their own words!!!! They created this $hitshow when they changed the model for the release without communicating anything to the folks who support them - they did it a certain way for the last 2 years and that is what their customers expected this year. I only ask for consistency and communication - with communication the priority especially if you are altering your normal approach OR being inconsistent. I do not think it is much to ask.

I will still drink Westbrook but not at the volumes I did previously as they have branded me as a hoarder/trader/out of stater so I will return there discrimination : ) There are plenty of great beers out there so not a big deal.

Less consumption and trading of their beers by me because trading is actually part of what makes craft "shitty" - or so I am told : ) Cheers to all!!!

I went to Total Wine, Beer Cellar and Bottles. All 1 beer per person. Just wanted to update everyone. Also went to Westbrook but no luck there. They had it on tap but nothing in bottles.
