Who stated what? Westbrook gave no reason for the silent release. They didn't brand you as anything. Others on BA have branded you, but that is something you must be ready for when posting rediculous comments. You really should stop trading so much. Drink more readily available beer. Worry less about releases.

I thought cake this year was the best yet. The extra heat is perfect!

I want to like and favorite and retweet and share and burn this into the moon with a laser. Cannot agree enough. So much agreeing.

I can not agree with this more. I was at the BAMC release and pray that never happens again. I support their tasting room regularly and it was good that us locals were able to get to the front of the line rather than the paid mules.

I got wind of the release at noon on Wednesday. Got off work at 5pm and walked straight to the table and got my limit of 6 at 6pm. Those within a 4-6 hour drive can not bitch about not getting any MC. Westbrook still sold out of the MC without making a big spectacle out of it.

This is purely an observation, but this thread is so aggressvie! Same thing happened last year too. I thought the South was suppose to be easy going? Just my 2 cents and I am sure I will get some negative comments back, but oh well.

Im pretty sure the South is why we have a definition for passive-aggresive behavior. When it comes to beer, we just drop the passive part

I completely forgot about the release this year. I don't get the hostility that seems to surround Westbrook's releases, specifically Mexican Cake. They're a nice brewery - and it's a nice beer - but certainly not something to go out of your way for (IMO).

My girlfriend and I were on the way to Charleston last year, and decided to stop off in the quaint little town of Mt. Pleasant. We visited Westbrook, who just happened to have bottles for sale. We left with a case and I gave away or traded the majority of it. I think this beer is way over-hyped.

One of the doctors I work with is going to Charleston this weekend. I told him to visit Westbrook because he enjoys good beer. he said he will bring me some MC if they still have it. *fingers crossed*

It's the only beer from this area where you can trade **** all those folks from other states that spend all year trade ****** us.

That said, the beer is gross IMO. Only worth it for the trade.

Looks like I missed out on another Westbrook release. They must have produced less this year (or distributed more). It was at the brewery for a while last year. I was out of town so not BA forum stocking, and I don't have a particular desire to read through 10 pages of bickering, but from skimming it appears it was a silent release and still sold out the day of at the brewery? Damn!

I enjoy Mexican Cake, but don't go wild for it. I am disappointed that I missed out, as I enjoy having 1 or 2 a year, and also have a couple trading partners that I send MC to every year; plus I have a vertical I was planning on keeping going for many years (Drink Fresh my ASS!). On the optimistic side, BA Blackbeerd is better than MC anyways, and is still available at COAST as of yesterday!

Well I guess I won't bring it to the Phish Atlanta bottle share again this year then, haha. You were there last year right? Gotta do it again this year.

Not true at all. I usually trade MC exactly for what it is, a $4$ limited shelf beer. I have traded for more than one for other limited shelf NC beers, so its not crazy out there.

    I was just in Charleston.

Went to Westbrook on Thursday — sold out of bottles, but they had it on tap. Enjoyed one after a BA Anfernee. Charleston Beer Exchange was sold out of bottles.

Went to Closed for Business on Friday, where it was also on tap.
