I have been eerily scoping this beer for quite a while? I noticed there are 3 Gots for this. Is this beer available year round? I am also assuming they are still draft only.

    Any info is welcomed. Thanks.

Old Treehugger has eluded me for years now as well! Im pretty sure its never been bottled, and it only pops up every once in a while. Though I can never seem to catch is when it is on tap locally...

Never been bottled, but it is a winter release, and mighty fine at that. Those three gots...they possibly don't still have it, it would be a stored growler or hand bottled. Is a damn tasty beer for a non-BA barleywine. Always a want of mine.

Didnt one of the local DFW bars (Moth/Common) have Old Treehugger on tap just here recently?

I heard that too, and after checking their web site, its not listed as one of their beers any more. Dont know how much to read into that, but there it is.

It was on tap in late May at the Houston G-Man. May have been an old keg, I suppose.

My understanding is that it'll be a yearly release from now on - used to be every two or three (or four years). It's brewed in January and then matured for close to a year at the brewery before release in December or thereabouts, but it can show up at almost any time of the year, sometimes with a good bit of age on it, because some bars (the usual suspects) will hold a keg or two back. Don't look for bottles any time soon though :slight_frown:

Many of the local craft bars hold onto kegs to release for special events or enjoy later in time such as when the tap list needs a little bump. Treehugger is a good choice for this.

That is surely not just a local thing though.

Strangeways just blew this... It was wonderful. I believe they have a couple more kegs.
