Hey, so I recently made my first ISO:FT post, I have not received any interest, and I'm just wondering at what point should I consider it dead? Its only been less than a day but the post is on the second or third page already. Thanks!
I've received offers several times when my post has gone to pages 3, 4 & 5. Most traders are patient enough to look through a few pages of the forum. You gotta remember not everyone is searching the forum at all times. Some people look once a day, every other day, etc. Only takes one set of eyes to close an offer.
I believe in all 10 of the trades I've completed so far the post was closed within the first 12 hours.
I believe I read somewhere that the mods want people to wait 72 hours before reposting the same ISO:FT. You could consider three days the lifespan
Guys who are pro's use the search bar to look for beers they are interested in...I've had people respond to my threads even months later, but for the most part if it doesn't happen within 3 days, you probably need to re-tool your post.
IMO, I feel if you haven't gotten a single bite in 24 hours you should evaluate your offer and look to post again. On the flip side tho…i've had people hit me up on posts that range from 5 days to 5 weeks depending on the type of rarity of the beer you are ISO/FT. The rarer or harder to get….the longer the shelf life
Maybe here?? Rules: As always, our Terms of Service applies. You trade at your own risk. Beer trading is a privilege that may be taken away. You may be banned without warning for: Buying or selling alcohol. Trolling or dishonest activity. Having multiple accounts. Posting personal information. Abusing the Beer Trading Feedback System. Examples: Giving retaliatory feedback. Basing your okay/negative feedback on the lack of extras; unless extras were part of the agreed upon trade. Leaving fake feedback. Trade posts may only be made in an ISO (in search of) : FT (for trade) forum. Trades must be beer for beer. No other goods or services; like tickets, booze, mules/proxies/trustees. No open-ended, vague, or auction-like offers; example: "Make me an offer." No betting. No linking to lists on another site. No "message sent" or "check your messages" style posts. No "what's the value of beer x?", "what would it take to get beer x?", "what can I get for beer x?" or similar threads. No bumping. No cross-posting (making the same offer in multiple forums). No reposting the same or similar post within a 72 hour period. Don't threadjack. Start your own ISO:FT thread. Don't reply with "Like" or "+1" or similar. Don't be a dick.
If you're looking for a beer that's actively traded (i.e. you see other posts up for it) and you get no responses at all in three days, it's usually wise to reevaluate what you posted, in terms of what you're offering (not enough?) or the format of your post (was it clear?) or both.
