Saw Andy Crouch tweet that she was taking over the R&D brewery for Sam Adams; does anybody have more details? While I'm excited for her and to see what SA lets her get up to, I hope Wormtown doesn't suffer too much of a setback...
^I'd guess it was a good price and she has more complete control. In any case, I'm not going to second-guess her choice based on assumptions.
Here is a detailed article from today's Boston Globe on Boston Beer's "Alchemy & Science" incubator...no mention of Megan Parisisi http://www.bostonglobe.com/business...ional-stage/ioZHT3WGTrm0ooBBYa162I/story.html
Wow. Sam Adams + Magic Hat + "crafty" brand + shandy debut beer...these guys are going to have an uphill climb with a lot of people here on BA! Anyway, Parisi confirmed it on twitter (https://twitter.com/badassbrewster/status/601899398784749568) in case you're aluding to the implication that the article's silence on the issue calls her departure into question.
I dont think they care too much about the minority on BA, I think they are targeting the blue mooners.
Thought I would chime in real quick. First off I want to congratulate Megan on her new position and wish her continued success in her career. Boston Beer is getting a great person and employee and we will miss her here at Wormtown. With that said I will be taking back direct oversight of brewing. Our two shift brewers will take on more responsibilities and become lead brewers. Megan's tenure over the last year has allowed me to focus on building out and outfitting our new brewery. With the recent addition of two 90 bbl tanks last week our capacity has risen to 10,000 bbls which is 300% more than it was 6 months ago. She took on a big opportunity to grow her career. What a few people think on BA is minuscule to the experience, scale, and growth she will experience. Sam Adams and BBC put out some great beers and know how to do it well. Great news to hear all around.
Oh, I couldnt fault her either. My hope was that there's something more personally & spiritually fulfilling on the table. Regardless, it doesnt really matter one iota what I think. She's moving on from Worcester and she'll be immensely more successful and have much greater exposure at SA. It's a great opportunity.
