Honestly yes. I think the Mexican Cake side should at least add a plus. Brewery only ticketed event bottle at $20 with 4 bottle limit per person for a bottle that hits a wide distro footprint and is $10.99 at the brewery (at least in years past)with a 6 bottle limit and the chance to walk away with a case if you bring a friend. So $4$ its off and getting darklord is harder to get since you have no chance buying it outside of Darklord day, Unlike Mexican Cake

I just completed a trade recently that was a 1-4-1... a '14 Cake for a '15 DL. The guy had tried MC at DL Day and really wanted a bottle. We did end up making a bigger trade when all was said and done, and both of us were happy with the deal. MC this year was $15 at the brewery (limit 6) and was around $12-13 retail in the bottle shops. Although more bottles appeared to have been made this year, they ended up in a lot more places with very tight limits. That being said, more people are likely to keep their bottles instead of trading them (which in turn kicks up their trading 'value'). Even the locals here in Charleston only saw it for 2 days (and in the middle of the week). Just my 2 cents...

I hear ya, but Darklord is just not a good beer IMO. $4$ and rarity and all that, but taste is my #1 factor.

Traded MC for Dark Lord last year and really enjoyed it.

Fair enough. Individual taste is very subjective

Just saying, I think it's a fair trade between the two. If I had any Dark Lord I'd be converting it all to Cake.

You really think 1:1 for DL or Hunahpu is that crazy of an offer? Have you ever had DL, certain vintages are nearly undrinkable.

Ok, ok, so I exaggerate a bit, but 1:1 for DL or Huna seems pretty fair to me. Throw in a small plus to make the $4$ equal and its dead on IMO.

The 1:1 MC for a Huna 2013..maybe. Any other year, I wouldn't do 2:1 MC for Huna. And before "bashing", I really like both beers. To each their own, it's what "YOU" prefer, not a bunch of people telling you what a trade should be.

I actually also significantly prefer Huna to Cake. I just don't think its by any means crazy to trade it 1:1. Would I currently trade 1 Huna for 1 Cake, no I would not. But when I lived in FL and had extra Huna and had never had Cake I certainly would have.

I agree with your last sentence though. Does anyone remember not too long ago when people actually traded beer based on what they had available in exchange for what they wanted to try, and not based off of relatively arbitrary "trade values". It seems like this "trade value" talk gets more and more out of hand each day.

I looked back at an old trade request I had from back in 2013. Guy was asking for 2 of my MCs for 1 bottle of his KBS. Needless to that deal did not happen.

Yeah we did a 06'-14' vertical about 6 months ago. It's a really sweet beer. If super sweet is not your thing then I'm sure it wouldn't be enjoyable.

We got less cases this year, but it seems like we got more kegs. The distribution footprint is wider this year than last year (more states) and we (speaking for just SC) have more reps on the street. My case allocation dropped more than 33% this year even though I was up significantly in sales. I got one additional keg (a small one ) over last year.

Just thought you all might like to hear why bottle limits were so low.

That's crazy! I just want to say thanks bc you might be the only reason I was able to get the few bottles that I did get!

@raverjames is right about bourbon batch
    Bourbon was 4 roses
Double Barrel was Pritchard Tenn Whiskey and Pritchard Rye, and possibly one barrel of Pritchards Double Barrel which is one of their bourbons (?)
    No chocolate bourbon in 2014

What exactly is chocolate bourbon anyway? Sounds kinda gross by itself, but a good thing to age a beer in perhaps.
